My new Wilk Classic Skeleton

Just took delivery of the new baby. Its 45mm, which I initially thought would wear too large on my wrist. Changed my mind! Each of Scott's pieces is unique. Yes, this is a Chinese movement. I simply preferred the look. Scott will do the servicing and he is "ok" with the Chinese movement (initially, I was going to go with the ETA, but the screws on the Chinese movement were blue -- and the ETA was a slightly darker metal). Very nice fine silver dial, I have two straps -- this one (a brown/beige) and a black which gives it a more formal presence. Since Scott does all of the final work, I imagine that this is a true "micro-brand". There will only ever be, at most, a few hundred of these, and each has slight/more customizations. And, at a price of well under $1000 US, this is almost the holy grail of "affordable luxury". Mostly in that, no matter how much is spent it will be almost impossible for someone to get the same thing. Unique in its essence, and reflects its place and time.

Further, each of my pieces has a somewhat deeper meaning -- my Seiko 5 was a gift from a very dear friend, that re-kindled my interest in watches. My Casio is "straight out of Planes Trains and Automobiles" -- and is truly a geek artwork. My Vostok is just kooky. The only piece I have that is purely functional is the Orit. Its job is to keep me alive. Chosen for price and features, with no other significance. The Wilk will be my "dress watch of the future".
