Is Serica to be trusted?

Have you folks heard about Serica? Stopped by their boutique the other day. Watches look cool and they are all cosc - but with all the issues they had with the movements before, really not sure...

Jody just did a video about this. It looks like they may have the issue sorted.

Really a great looking watch, nonetheless.

Saw that - prices getting steep indeed.

I just recently got a 6190 cali dial. It’s been running great so far and I have a delugs cts strap arriving today that I’m gonna put on it.

Great to hear - on the fence a bit, with these guys

I saw that video, and Jody thinks they have worked out their qc issues and should be given a second chance.

I was too, but decided to “take the plunge”

They look awesome but have been raised their prices too much IMO.

·

They look nice, but I still dread how bad their customer service was in the past

I enjoyed my 4512 with no movement issues. Really like the 6190 but will wait for a gently used one.

·

I wouldn’t personally… but who am I. I thought they acted poorly regarding the Neptune, and if you want to drop this much on a micro, I would do it on one who doesn’t treat customers with contempt, but again, who am I.

·

Go for it! To me one of the best micro brands when in terms of sophistication and consistent design language. I've only had good experiences, especially with their customer service. The QC issues were related to previous generations and before they started COSC certifying their movements.

·

Got the cts strap in. Here it is on the 6190

My 4512 had an issue (not THE issue) and Serica sorted it with a minimum of fuss. Paid for shipping and turned it around in less than a week. No complaints about their customer service from me.

I really love their design

·

I have my entire trust on their team after a) they went through a whole hassle of shipping to a place i was not yet in AND reimbursing me the taxes payed after i changed that address b) switched the movement on my watch no questions asked and nothing payed since there was a weird noise in the winding.

I asked a Hamilton authorised dealer if i could swim with a 100m WR watch and they said any damage would not be under warranty. To me, main brands don't give a fuck about our ownership, while microbrands care and try their best. My experience and contact with Serica has been nothing but great, so intend on trusting them.

They may be a little bit more expensive that I'd like tbh, but when personally there are very few watches that ignite emotion quite like theirs. But that's just me.

I absolutely love my 4512 and have had zero problems after more than two years. Also had the pleasure of picking it up from the store in Paris and meeting the owner. Great experience and would recommend them to anyone.

I like the design but probably won’t ever order one, but if I were in France, had a chance to meet the owner, and could go home with a great memory and cool watch I would be all-in!

Excellent! Had a great time at their store, also.

I have two Serica's, the updated 5303-3 diver and the new 8315-2 gmt.

To me there's no other watch in a price bracket under 2-3x of what they offer that I would rather have over my Serica. The design langauge is unique.

I got them knowing their previous (shambolic) response to the newton movement issues. Yeah they messed up, but since the update to the movement I've only read good things about them, and from my few email exchanges with them they were very responsive.

I would recommend.

I love the Serica brand and I'm looking to pick up a 6190 in the future
