[Question] Help me to choose one (Omega or Rolex)

I have $15k budget for buying one watch. I am sharing the images (these images are from online).

I want to choose between Rolex submariner and Omega moonphase and I love all of them but it is difficult to choose one. If you are a both watch holder and watch expert, help me to choose one in terms of durability, design, robustness and feeling? ๐Ÿ™

  1. Rolex Submariner(126613ln) - $15k

  2. Omega Speedmaster Moonphase (304.30.44.52.01.001) - $12k

** Dont care the resell price and current price because I am not gonna sell it in the future.

Kinda of a problem: none of us know your lifestyle or daily activities, you hobbies or passion. Have you tried either on? If so how they fit?

I would pick the Omega. I'm not a fan of gold colored anything but that's just me.๐Ÿ˜‰

I already own Chopard Alpine Eagle for party or formal events. I just need another watch for other purchase (daily wearing, working or swimming). And I haven't tried both of them yet coz I have a plan to buy them online.

The coaxial movement is a marvel in mechanical engineering. The omega is more of a specialized, collectorโ€™s watch while the submariner is just another sub. Just my humble opinion.

And, can I wear that moonphase in rainy weather, and take shower with it? I want to make sure about that because that moonphase is 10 bar while other moonwatches are 5 bar. And I believe 10 bar is strong enough for water resistancy but also wanna listen from who already used it before.

Personal preference is Omega, the moon phase is a bonus. And Omega is different with the way they rate their water resistance. Unlike every other manufacturer, their watches specify their maximum safe depth. So 10bar for them means it can go 100m underwater.

Is it a fair comparison? Noting, I own Omega's. And despite the cost difference, I prefer the 'warmth' of a two tone. I gotta take the Sub for this one. Big ouch.

ยท

Omega

ยท

I would go with the two-tone. Love me some two-tone!

ยท

Definitely Rolex for me. But if Iโ€™m getting a two-tone Rolex, itโ€™s going to be a Bluesy or Root Beer.

ยท

Speedmaster is defo a keeper but the sub is better in an overall aspect

ยท

Omega then spend the 3k left over on a quality vintage watch.

ยท

Youโ€™re gonna buy it online without even trying them on? Thatโ€™s crazy to me.

Try these (and several others) on first. Take time deciding and be sure for yourself. Donโ€™t let us choose.

If you insist of swimming with a watch, the choice is obvious. But for daily, I would lean towards the Speedy because it's less attention getting.

personally, I liked Omega design but most people are stick with Rolex. So I am confused. I am not a watch collector so dont have much experience in luxury watches. In most of cases, I choose the watch by seeing their design lol so I wanted to hear from someone who owned both watches before and get the honest feedback. Plus, I am not gonna dive with watches.

ยท

Rolex

ยท

Rolex more of a flex which puts me off it.

The Omega is the technically superior watch due to its complications and coaxial anti-magnetic master chronometer calibre.

ยท

I like the right

Omega for me - two-tone Rolex is too 'bling', but that my personal taste. However, for that money you could also buy a really nice vintage 5513 (like mine) which is IMHO more understaded and a classic.
