Hi everyone, greetings from Indonesia! Glad to be joining this amazing community. I jumped headfirst into this rabbit hole of collecting around 2018 w...
I 2nd RGM.. Richard makes spectacular pieces, many of the movements developed from older movements and are truly unique. I used to live in Lancaster and drove past their unassuming building quite often (before I was a watchnerd) not knowing the horological marvel happening inside!
Hamilton also headquartered in US way back before being acquired by swatch..
In the Microbrand space there are tons that are US based but mostly they use movements/parts from outside. I think you just dont see US-made movement watchmaking..
Funny thing about Steinhart... I used to be obsessed with them.. sold most of them and this is the one Im keeping. Perfect dimensions, solid built, and I love GMTs.
I think 'boring' is super subjective, but with that said I do think there are dials that just dont look great because its too plain or vice versa. I also think there are watches that need to be experienced in person as opposed to just seeing internet pictures.. like the first time I wore the 'boring' 124270 made me realize why its so beloved.
To me this gives similar vibe to Oris' Chronoris. Fun case shape with retro-summer style (albeit the Oris is racing-inspired). Fun watch!
