Aliexpress bracelets for my new Alpinist

Hey, guys!

It's my first post here. I bought an Alpinist last month and I’ve been loving it. Amazing watch.

Although I love it's leather strap and had bought a bond nato and a sand marine nationale for it, I think a bracelet would suits it very well. Do any of you know a good OEM bracelet available in aliexpress? I don’t pretend buying an overpriced US or strapcode bracelet.

Thanks!

I don't know how easy these are to find in Brazil, and they might be higher than Ali brands, but Uncle Seiko is legit. And his stuff fits.

There are plenty of people wearing his bracelets on their thousands of dollar Omegas and Tudors.

Second this one. I have used two different uncle bracelets and enjoy each.

@solidyetti Thanks for the reply! Unfortunately, I saw some WUS reviews about Uncle Seiko saying their quality isn’t really that great for the price they ask. In fact, I found some people saying US straps are worse than some Aliexpress ones. Also, the customs and duties make really dificult to buy things online here in Brazil, especially when the order is above $50,00, so I intend to stay below that price point.

Also, do you guys know if any Pagani Design or San Martin strap will fit on my Alpinist?

Budget is always important.

I also take anything said over the Internet with a grain of salt. Heard the same thing, haven't experienced it yet myself..YMMV of course.

Lots of discontent on WUS and reddit, hard to tell what was wrong, what was legit, and what is errbody bandwagoning.

Then I'm a sample of one lol.

Mine is on a milanais strap.

WUS is great for technical help and knowledge based, but I turn them off when it comes to 'opinions'. Uncle Seiko has good product. But I feel your pain when it comes to duties.

Having bought bracelets from both Uncle Seiko and AliExpress (with the seiko logo) I would say the Uncle Seiko ones are far superior. AliExpress is like the one Seiko supply with their watches, adequate but not going to impress.

Lol, currently I have an AliExpress bracelet on my baby alpinist and 30min ago I ordered an Uncle Lincoln bracelet. I'd say don't throw your money away on AliExpress things. I had to spend a lot of time with this AliExpress bracelet, dismantling it, sanding it.

It's one of those more expensive AliExpress bracelets, yet it does not taper, it's very long, I had to remove all but one removable link for me to fit (18cm wrist), it had very sharp edges to the point where I was afraid to put it on. The clasp was straight up shit and I had to order another AliExpress clasp, which made the whole ordeal even more expensive and frustrating. The newly arrived clasp had also to be sanded and sharp edges dulled with a table mounted grinder. The quick adjustment mechanism on the clasp was squeaky and grindy, so I had to sand that too.

The clasp looks like it is milled from the pictures on Ali, but it is merely cut out from a thick sheet of metal with no finishing of the edges after the cutting. The top (viewable side) is brushed and polished though, so it looks good. The bottom side (the side on your skin) is sharp, irritating and I would say that it may even cut your skin if enough pressure is applied.

At the moment it is serviceable, but I'm not happy with it. I'm not throwing it away because it cost me money and time, but I guess I'll throw it away when the US bracelet arrives.

Of course when I posted a negative review on AliExpress, it's not published.

Don't do this.

The Alpinist is a beautiful watch and deserves respectful accessories. Don't dilute such a great watch with low quality Chinese garbage.

It’s like buying a decent stereo then looking for speakers at Walmart. You have a very nice watch, don’t cheap out on a bracelet.

Thanks for the replies, crunchers!

I’m going to wait until my next trip to the USA and then I will buy a decent bracelet there. It’s f* insulting the duties Brazil charges it’s citizens.

Strapcode.com has good quality Alpinist bracelets. I like Uncle Straps a bit more.
