Recently I received my results for the Singapore Cambridge A Level examination and they were not the best but I still did relatively well enough to enter into universities. Considering the amount of time and effort I’ve invested into taking this examination, my results were disappointing to me, but my family felt otherwise and told me to look in the right direction, assuring me that I can still enter a university so I shouldn’t be so hard on myself. I wasn’t defeated but a little demoralised, yet due to my family’s support I regained my high morale.
The next evening my mum brought me to Watches Of Switzerland and told me to pick a piece. Although my family is not cash strapped, I don’t believe that I am ready to own and wear an omega or anything of that sort as of now as it’s far too expensive, especially in my country. Hence I looked towards Longines, the new conquest in green which was quoted at $2.3k SGD. I loved the watch and have been eyeing on it for the longest time but then my salesgirl said that why not we look at Tagheuer again, to give me a bigger picture of my options. She quoted me this F1 auto at $2.5k SGD and it just felt a little bit more refined than the Longines. My mum willingly approved of the purchase and said that I deserved it, something I never thought I’ll hear in a long time. I’ll never forget the story behind this watch, because it will be this watch that will propel me to always try to achieve more, even when there’s a turn of events.

Imagine if you had aced your exams, you would have gotten a Rolex! ok jokes aside, honestly don’t worry too much about exam grades. No one gives a damn about that in University and beyond. Life is much more complicated than a bunch of grades you got when you’re 17-18. You have a super caring and supportive family and have university to look to, you’ve done well bud. Congrats on your watch!
