Finally joined Nomos family today

I've been looking for a watch for my birthday. After trying on a few different watches (as well as going through some interesting stories with Rolex ADs), I finally picked up my Nomos Club Sport Neomatik today!

Absolutely love the dial color. It's called "petrol green" but it's really not as green as their website photo. Under different lightings, sometimes it might even look blue.

Almost forgot the lume shot. It's not very strong but there we go:

Yup. It's the same dial. My only complaint would be that it's not a true California dial (or, no Roman numeral). But it's alright.

The movement is beautiful, just as expected.

Finally, the bracelet. This might be my least favorite part. It's nice looking but does not feel very "solid" and can feel a bit loose. It's not as solid as Rolex's OP bracelet, but it's also half the price. Buuuut it's also not as solid as my Longines Master Collection's bracelet.

I do like the polished central link since I want a little bit of flashy-ness to my watch. It does come with micro-adjustment. It's... tool-less but not super easy to use.

Overall I am very happy with my purchase. I have considered many other options such as Rolex Oyster Perpetual, Omega Aqua Terra Shades, IWC Mark XX, etc. I guess I am just very good at nitpicking. Now if you may excuse me...

  1. Rolex OP: It's good, but no see-through caseback. Also, where can I get one?

  2. Omega Aqua Terra Shades: Great watch, love the blue dial, but why it's more expensive than Diver 300? Does it make sense?

  3. IWC Mark XX: I hate the long lug, or, my thin wrist 😭

Anyway, that's all of my rants. For now I am happy with my Nomos. Not sure if I have a goal for my next big purchase yet. Perhaps a Speedmaster 57'?

Very nice piece!

·

Congratulations on a beautiful watch! All of your points are so valid on the other watches

·

It’s a thing of beauty

·

Congrats!

·

Awesome watch - especially the dial colorway. Nomos makes great dials and movements. Hope your new watch brings you much joy!

·

Soo cool!

·

Very handsome Nomos. As for the Aqua Terra, it seems that Omega has just decided that it's going to be every so slightly higher end vs the diver 300 for some reason.....

·

Welcome to the #nomos team! Really awesome piece, enjoy it in good health!

·

Great watch! Dial and movement look top notch, and better without the Roman numerals I think.

·

Congratulations! Team Nomos right there. 👊

·

Love German watches. So underrated in my mind.

This is definitely a great watch and daily wearer. I have an OP 41 for this job and i definitely don’t see the solid vase back as I down side I see it as a plus. It’s part of the Rolex DNA of why they are so popular. Two very differnt but also similar watches

·

Congratulations but I have a question: you hate the long lugs on the IWC but the Nomos works for you? Nomos lugs are infamous for their length. What's your wrist size that the Nomos is working for you?

I actually don't know my wrist size 😂As for the lug-to-lug, don't get me wrong: I don't really like Nomos either. But for IWC, since it's a pilot watch, I want to wear it with a leather strap not bracelet. Guess that would make the lug seems even longer. Nomos lug has some tapering and comes with bracelet (not strap). Also overall it's a smaller watch, so that also helps.
