Introduction post

Hello everybody, just wanted to introduce myself.

I basically started to get in to watches last year. Just wanted to get a nice watch for my wedding anniversary dinner and started investigating a a bit.

Turns out that was a mistake.

So the first one I got is from my wife for anniversary- Orient Bambino.

Second one I both myself when I got a raise - Bulova Mil Ships.

Also took Orient maestro cause I liked it and it was cheap.

For Christmas I got another Orient from my wife - a great great diver you can see on the pictures.

King Seiko from 1969 is coming on Monday.

I told myself I will only buy watches for special occasions so I remembered I was poor when I graduated and did not celebrate it - so I ordered an amazing looking King Seiko, all original and fully serviced from 1969 (KS56).

This has become a strange addiction and learning about watches has started to consume a lot of my free time :)

Orient is one of my favorite brands. Like them more than mother Seiko! Outstanding quality, great and accurate movements, and a truly amazing Price-performance ratio. Welcome to the watch crowd! 😁

Totally agree! I doubt I will stay at 3. And that is the first brand I recommend to anybody for a fist mechanical watch.

In house movement, history and really a lot of style and quality for the money!

Thank you! Glad I found this app

Sure, that’s what they all say 😂

But I believe you 😭👍

All jokes aside, welcome to watch crunch. Here you’ll find absolutely no help with managing your addiction.

I got into watches because the intricacies of mechanical movements have always fascinated me. Then the rabbit hole spiralled down from there.

I alway wore just Grmins, Suuntos, Polars and such sport gadgets so to say.

Started looking in to mechanical when my wife told me not to ba a hillbilly and wear a Apple Watch when I dress up.

So basically I blame her, she cannot complain now!

That’s sound logic. 🍻

Orient are a great place to start - and even stick with, if you don't get totally brand-crazy!.👍

I agree, I love orient. They remind me of the first cigarette I ever bought 😂

Welcome to the Crunch Marko. Great looking collection! Love the look of the orient diver on a bracelet, much more appealing to me! And the bambino is a hell of a watch for the first piece! Best budget dress watch by far!

I love it also on a bracelet, but when I don’t want to be to flashy I put it on one of the 10 natos I have for him:

The Sony Seiko has this movement from the King Seiko factory I believe. It was a corporate gift to suppliers dated to 1973.

Apart from that… I’ve only seen one other, on an auction site from Japan.

Welcome! I've been a fan of Orient watches for a while. Unfortunately, my method of collecting doesn't lend itself to finding one any time soon, as they tend to be well made and durable (I buy old broken watches at auctions and such, then attempt repairs) Enjoy your collection and keep posting, we love to see new pics!
