Watches that you own, that deserve more wrist time than you give them

I own a small collection and try to give wrist time to each. Whilst I do wear my Datejust there are times (like now) when I wonder why I don’t wear it more… I guess it has strong competition with the Santos Medium and Black Bay 58 also in frequent rotation.

What watches are in your collection that deserve more wrist time?

Surely I’m not the only negligent owner in here 😅

Gosh this is a great topic! I'd say some of my "original" nostalgic pieces I don't wear as often, but I do try to keep a rotation. My collecting goal is to have a thoughtful collection of around 25-30 pieces so I can wear a different piece each week or so.

I think this depends. I recently acquired a Breitling Navitimer B01 43 and purchased a few straps and I wore it for three weeks straight. Classic and it wears so well. Right now I'm in love with my Ulysse Nardin Maxi Marine diver, which I'm wearing as I type this.

Overall, I guess to good thing about this hobby is, absence makes the heart fonder.

I have an OP36 with the same silver dial as your DJ, and it definitely sees less wrist time than others. When I peer into my watch box to decide which watch to wear, it hardly ever screams out "pick me", but when it does I often find myself wearing it for several days in a row. I had considered selling it, but there are certainly days where it just feels like the perfect watch for the day. When I saw the photo of your DJ, I decided to give my OP another chance, as I haven't worn it in weeks. As always, it looks better on the wrist than it does in the box.

all of them really, but honestly it’s the Pasha de Cartier Seatimer. This thing is just delightful, even when the crown is trying to break my wrist.

25-30 pieces, I’m trying to cap mine at 6 😂 I’ve learned to appreciate a lot of watches and can happy love them from a distance, but don’t need to add to my collection.

If you get to 52 pieces you can wear one a week 😜

I know what you mean… perhaps it’s the fact they are quite subtle overall and not a loud watch. But that’s what I love about it, and why I didn’t go in for the fluted and jubilee version. 🤷‍♂️👍

6 is a good number. I may change my mind down the road, but that's always been my goal. My dad has 10 or so watches alone that I know I'll be inheriting so subtract those from that number. Some will not be worn but will be utilized more as a piece of artwork that I take out look at under a loupe and admire. Guess I'm a little weird lol.

Ha! Yes 52 lol definitely a "brain spasm" moment on my part😂

I tried a medium santos and it had a very similar 'vibe' on my wrist to my DJ.  Hence I decided to take it off my lust list as it would be competing for the same bit of wrist time.

Apart from that my leather strap/dress type watches are under used.

Oh no, that "52" idea really appeals to me.

This does not get the time it deserves. It is just an entry level Hamilton from the 1940's, but it has great sentimental value.

Wear the watch that speaks to you. let the mood pick the watch not the calendar. Fun and flashy dive , Subdued and elegant dress, business expensive statement or shopping pilot. Maybe cheap quarts for the wrong side of the tracks.
