OUT OF POSITION DATE WINDOW

I don’t really have OCD, but from a design standpoint, just look at how Citizen put in the date window. Give it a fixed angle for god’s sake. Why can’t it at least be at the 4:30 of the 3 or 6 isn’t possible. Or better yet, not have it! Isn’t it just a matter of hole placement? I don’t think there should be any mechanical parts hindering placing the window in a better spot.

Okay rant over, the color way of this LE TicTac is awesome. But again that date window throws me off 😅

Seiko Speedtimer is not any better.

The date is in the correct position to see as you are driving. Plus its the only place not covered with a hand or subdial. I built mine without a date window and date runs behind unseen. Effectively giving it a ghost position on the crown.

At least the edge of the date window is aligned with the tip of the indices. The Seiko SCC date window looks like it was selected by throwing a dart at the dial.

Well, the clicky points on the date wheel have uh... 360/31=11.6 degrees between them. I have no idea how much trouble it would be to cock this to a rational angle, but it would be appreciated.

I have seen this watch on the JDM, I like it but while I could live with the date window where it is, I could not handle the pressers and winder where they are, would drive me nuts.

It may be a "heresy" to some, but I think almost all watches would look better with no date window at all. (and yes, I'll admit almost all of my watches have a date or day/date complication.) 😜

Interesting take. Yes it is a driving position angle I haven’t thought of that

Very scientific answer! I didn’t realize this at all. I guess it’s easier to go with the natural angle rather than moving it ever so slightly in a fixed angle

It drives me nuts as well!

I'm cool with it... 😎 I personally have a couple.
