Won Seiko Accuracy Lottery (6R64)

I recently picked up an unworn Seiko Presage GMT from an Ebay type site here in Japan and it seems I have won the Seiko accuracy lottery! Aside from being a stunning watch with a traveler‘s or true GMT (the complication I have always wanted) that fits me perfectly on an FKM rubber strap from strapcode, it is super accurate: +1 second per day on the wrist! Most of my other automatic Seikos (4R35/6 and 6R35) have been about -5-10spd accross the board and while this is not a biggie as I tend to wear a watch for only one or two days, the stunning accuracy of this GMT has made me fall even more in love with this timepiece. For under 1,000 dollars I think this watch is pretty much unbeatable. Unique design, stunning dial, cool apricot GMT hand, true GMT and Rolex Batgirl accuracy for a 15th of the price.

What have been some of your experiences with the Seiko Accuracy Lottery?!!

It's a gorgeous watch, at that price and top accuracy you have definitely won the horological lottery, congrats

I picked up a new watch for $88 in April that has a Seiko Instruments NH35A. After running about +7 spd for the first few weeks, it has settled down to +1.8 spd on the wrist for June, and leaving it 12-up overnight (where it runs about -1 spd) has it running about 9 seconds fast for the month. At $88, I'm not going to complain about getting COSC accuracy 😀

Talking about accuracy, both my Hamilton mechanical and Louis Erard are in the +/-1 sec range all days. On the other hand, my Miyota powered watches are happily chugging like school kids with concern for accuracy - easy 5-7secs a day :) I wear those Miyota powered ones when I'm going to the movies or to the beach and really don't care much about accuracy. I wear my ETA or Sellita powered ones when I'm at work and especially when on back-to-back meetings.
