Honestly, I think this is only the second time a springbar has failed on me in my life. My B&J NATO saved this from taking a tumble in the night; which does imply I was still wearing it like a Hermes lock until sunrise.
Have any of you had springbars fail? And worse yet, on something that wasn't a single pass or NATO?

lucky you!
Never had a failed spring bar. *knock on wood*
I’ve never had a springbar fail either. I suspect the pass through design of the Nato puts additional pressure on the springbar making it more likely to fail. Thus, the Nato solves the problem that it creates itself.
They make heavy duty spring bars but they cost more. https://www.amazon.ca/Spring-BAR-Thickness-Packet-Stainless/dp/B01LXSHMKH
I had a sptingbar failure while I was on a lift 15 feet high. Dropped and ruined my vintage Citizen bullhead. I'm still pretty upset as that is my only auto chrono.
Dude, this is what happens when you're on secret missions halfway around the world, fighting bad guys in their mountaintop lairs. Don't think for a second that I've forgotten about your secret life, Mr. Curtaincall.

...say what you want, but that wouldn't have happened under the old 'Q'.

I was actually thinking about this when it happened because there is an imprint of the bottom of my case in the NATO. I don't necessarily wear it tight, just enough so that it doesn't wander about the wrist and I'm not constricted in any movement. Really makes one think lol

That's devastating! I'm sure you weren't doing anything strenuous on the lift either, although I may be wrong.

"Hello, M? Yeah the nutty Omega guy is... well he's not so nutty now." 😂

If I had been drinking something while reading this I would have lost my laptop hahaha

Nothing strenuous, just tracing wires in the ceiling.
