Oris BCPD movements

Do you guys think Oris Big crown pointer date series (old dial ones with the classic cathedral hands and half moon shaped pointer date) would ever come out with a better movement? All of the models right now seem to be using the SW200-1. I know the newer ones have in house calibre473 movements but I’m not the fan of the dial. Should I wait for potentially newer ones? Thanks!

There is nothing wrong with the Selitta SW20-1 movement. What gives you the impression that there is?

I'm with Foghorn on this one

As the colleagues @foghorn and @Case563 above say, there is nothing wrong with the SW 200 Sellita caliber and if you wait to buy one with a 400 caliber that looks like the Sellita model, you may pay more than $4000 dollars, which from my point of view is garbage.

I’m totally fine with the SW-200 that’s in mine. But to answer your question, I don’t think Oris will put a caliber 400 in these watches, on purpose, to differentiate them from the Caliber 400 versions.

I just wish the power reserve on them is longer, not exactly sure if it’s movement related, super beginner to watches at the moment

My BCPD w the SW-200 mvmt is running roughly +2/+3 spd, can't really complain about accuracy on mine.

38hr PR is a bit short relative to other watches, but I don't really find mine to be an annoyance. I shuffle through enough watches day to day, week to week that I have to adjust most of my watches when I put them on anyways.

Just my experience, hope it helps!

I also have no issue with the SW200-1 movement, and I also greatly prefer the old style dial to the new with the in-house-designed movement. I do not get great precision out of my bronze BCPD, though. I'm considering taking it back to the AD for regulation. They have two trained watch makers there, and they did wonders for the Tissot T-Complication Squelette I bought there.
