Is this what I’ve been looking for?

I just recently posted in another thread opining over models we hope to see. I stated that I wanted a 38mm Baltic MR01.

Today, this 38mm watch just made its appearance in the Longines Master collection.

I would certainly choose it 8 days a week over the Baltic.

I've seen a silver dial version in person, and it's gorgeous.

·

Whew that is pretty. The Longines is almost 4x more expensive than that Baltic, so that would be a factor. I don't think there's a wrong choice here, just what's right for you.

·

Yeah that's gorgeous!

·

That is a good looking watch!

·

Yup I would buy this one … I’m a sucker for small seconds dials…

Not sure if a comparison between the 2 watches is justified, as this Longines is $2500. It sure is the price to pay for a Swiss movement in the back of the watch. Not sure how many watchmakers will want to touch the Chinese micro rotor movement behind the Baltic the day it needs servicing or stops running for no good reason.

The dial on this Longines is beautiful, recently I added a black PVD coated Legend Diver to my rotation of timepieces. I have consciously avoided buying too many Longines models drawn from

the brand’s massive catalogue, they are too additive. I can think of worse outcomes than squandering a lucky lottery win on a some favourites.

It’s specifically the design aesthetic. I regularly wear watches between $80 and $8000. I’m not opposed to the MR01, but am concerned about the 36mm case size

38mm = Perfect. It’s a beautiful piece, and I absolutely love the numerals and the brushed dial. Small seconds look really good on dress watches. If money were no object, I would choose this over the MR01 anytime.

Me too, sir. Me too. But I am yet to add one on my collection hahaha.

It's a really good looking watch, salmon dials were trending for a bit and sort of died down but those that still make it are making really nice shades of it that are more appealing

Lug to lug measurements is more accurate. Love what Longines are doing recently. Hate the long lugs or rather my small wrist. 😒
