It's great! And a good transition watch from quartz because the power reserve is so bonkers it hardly ever needs attention (pending you're not rotating dozens of watches)

I absolutely love mine.

What is your budget or any particular style of watch you are looking for? Could give you other suggestions as well if this is your first automatic watch.

The Khaki Field Auto 38mm (don't go for 42mm version unless you have a 7.5 inch plus wrist), is good all round watch for the price and you can pick them up for $500 or so depending where you decide to purchase. The only drawbacks of the watch is the lack of anti reflective coating and the water resistance issues.

If you want a gateway automatic watch, then look into Orient and Seiko 5.

The khaki field auto is a really good watch. I have the 38mm variant. It is a total strap monster. So you can wear it for any occasion. The two sizing, 38mm and 42mm and manual vs auto option means you can really taylor it to your needs. There is even a titanium version if you felt bougie. I got mine 3 years ago and at the time you could get them well below retail at an AD. I’m not sure about now though. The only reason it is no longer my daily is the WR. At 100m it is ok but without a screw down crown I’d always wonder if any water has gotten in at some point. I live in the PNW so rain is just a way of life over here. That being said, it is still ticking away and it still looks good. The last thing would be the polish bezel looks great but scratches way too easily. So if you think scratches are an eye sore and not characterful, it’ll be something to look out for. To summarize, it is the quintessential field watch with good looks and heritage. It is priced decently and has a good reputation.

Prefer the case shape on the Khaki King. The day window is cool too.
