So, this happened today
On Wednesday, I dropped off a Hemel Airwing at The Little Watch Shop in Houston. I purchased a larger crown for the Hemel and had TLWS install it for me. While there, I looked at the watches for sale, and I noticed this Seiko Turtle was marked as 50 percent off. TLWS is a Seiko AD. I made a mental note, looked around online and confirmed that was actually a pretty decent price for the watch.
This morning, I went to pick up the Hemel resigned to the fact that if the Seiko were still in the cabinet, then I would be leaving the store with a new Seiko. It was in the cabinet and still marked as 50 percent off. Et voilá!
TLWS also sells pre-owned watches. I think they are sold on consignment, but am not completely sure about that. In any event, this was in the cabinet.
They also had an old Universal Geneve in the cabinet, but it was positioned in such a way that I couldn’t get a decent photo of it.

I wanted that one in the brown variety awhile back. Never pulled the trigger. Lowest I found it was around $499.

The lady helping me told me that the Seiko rep comes I from time to time to identify items to marked for clearance. Maybe we’ll see the remaining supply marked down more aggressively if they are now officially a discontinued model.
That's how I got my King Sam at Macy's. Hard to turn down a 50% off Seiko.
