My Omega for your Breitling

Traded my 2008 41mm Omega Seamaster Professional 300M for the 38mm 2000 Breitling Colt Ocean 500M. To those who think I made a mistake, the Colt Ocean is a better size. Also, I traded with my father. I can easily get the SMP back whenever I feel like it. Besides, I already have 3 Omegas: another Seamaster, a birthyear Omega, and a Speedmaster. I don’t think I made the wrong decisiion (not that it’s really a decision if it’s family. You would do anything for them… to shut up).

Thoughts?

I'm guessing your father is delighted with the swap.

Too happy. Makes me think he scammed me.

Good deal for your father 😊

Well no loss at all. You like what you got and can get the Omega when you want. Nice!

Thanks. I like it so far. Time will tell if I'll love it as much as I did (still do!) the SMP.

Oh I know. Me too.

My younger daughter recently returned the TUDOR BB58 that she lifted from my kitchen counter with her mom’s permission wants to trade for one of my Breitling watches that she has her eye on. The BB 58 is a bit small but she can save it for her daughter in 10 years or more.

I have a sweet spot for the Breitlings with the slanted numerals… but I don’t have a Breitling but a Speedmaster, so I am really curious to see in the long run

Nice 🔥

Nrand diversity does add a level to a collection and since you could still borrow it thats cool too.

Did you end up giving her the Breitling she wanted? Of course you did. Family is family.

I love the Speedmaster so far. I’ve had it for a few weeks now. If’s my current favorite.

Are you referring to me or my father? I guess we both are

Yeah. Surprisingly I’m not upset over losing the Seamaster. I get to see it everytime I visit and might even ask to wear it from time to time if nostalgia attacks.

Not yet, lol. The Breitling is a Canada Chronomat #100/100 which I intend to wear a bit but of course it is hers and she knows it. She was born July1st Canada Day, reason I bought the overpriced watch in the first place.

Both, it's a good thing lol.

Based off a tagline started by WOE.

Hahaha. Of course. I gifted my daughter a vintage Hamilton for her 18th. As my only child she’s end up with all the watches anyway but the Hamilton seems to be the only one she actually likes.

Nice, I have already gifted watches to my two daughters and one son in law who seems to prefer his G-Shocks. When my older girl was in high school I gave her a Hamilton Khaki for her birthday, kid trashes everything but still has the watch years later. I gave her a 15 year old Chronomat that was fully serviced and waiting for the right moment. Our children will one day get all of our stuff, haha.
