My first Seiko 5 build inspired by SEGA's Sonic The Hedgehog.
Tried to blend a cool, versatile sports/dress watch that has a playful and eye-catching vibe to it. The gold ring bezel, needle(mouse) dauphine hands and electric yellow Milgauss-style seconds hand are subtle nods to the character. Went with a soft, light blue suede strap as a throwback to Sonic's classic colors during the late 80s - early 90s Genesis/MegaDrive era.
Sold the prototype to a businessman wearing an Omega Speedmaster '57(!). He was looking around for a watch to give to his kid.
I wanted to 'wow' my first customer, so I did the final assembly right in front of him. Threw in an extra navy silicone strap since his kid will definitely have a few messy adventures wearing this watch (also, I did consider the dad 'borrowing' the watch from his kid).
To taper off the performance art, I added a freehand drawing of the design + specs on a Post-It note.
I think I left that guy with a very unique watch-buying experience. I sincerely hope his kid enjoys wearing it and makes fun memories with his watch-loving dad.

That's stunning! I'm sure he's very happy with it. I would be.
