Exhibition piece - Still Can’t get used to the look

No chance of getting this from the AD. I tried on the Exhibition Model. I was told by the AD these are all real models with real movements and will eventually be sold off. I could not wear it unless I was upside down ! That doesn't mean I would not buy it 😊 if given the opportunity!!

It’s a weird watch. But the weird thing about Rolex is you know that should you be graced with the opportunity to buy something like this, you could turn around and make a profit. As weird as I think it is, I’d probably keep it knowing I’d never get another offered to me. These are strange days.

Excuse my ignorance, what's AD?

Excuse my ignorance, what's AD?

Authorized Dealer.

Unpopular opinion, but the poor experiences with Rolex ADs have turned me off the brand completely. Maybe it's because I'm not "rich enough", but I abhor the "you don't get to choose what you like, be happy you are getting a watch" treatment. Reminds me of the Soup Nazi in Seinfeld.

I’m left handed so it was made for me. 😂I saw one at the AD also. It’s a good looking watch. I hope I get a chance one day.

You are not alone. I feel the same

I call this the upside down watch. It’s too odd for me.

·

This can be more comfy as it won't stab your hand add much if you wear it loose. And some people do. Meet a doctor yesterday with a super loose Rolex.

They are building a large Rolex boutique here in Toronto, something like 12000 square ft( cannot recall exactly) so you have to assume that they will pay the rent selling Rollies but I guess it still will not include guys without spend history with the brand. My friend’s 19 year old nephew and his grandmom walked into the Rolex boutique and walked out after a pleasant event with his brand new Explorer for uni classes next fall. All the Rolex fanboys insist stock will be way up soon. Doesn’t concern me but other fellas are excited.

·

I’m waiting for one of these as well. Originally wanted the Pepsi but my AD explained the production issues Rolex are having with those, so will try to get me this instead! Let’s hope he calls soon..

I'm a righty, and it's not weird at all or upside down. If I had my way, every single watch I own would have a crown on the left, or destro.

On anything with pushers that don't lock, I won't hit them at odd angles doing work stuff.

Wouldn't get crown bite when working out, or hitting the range for shooting drills. I realize this is a niche complaint, but one of the reasons why I will eventually pony up and pay for either a Sangin or Tudor LHD.

Doesn't change me from loving my Lorier, Helm, etc. But would still love to have them destro.

Destro crown 🎯

·

@bilalaman I actually rejected a sub this year for something else. The treatment was weird & offensive. So....I also agree

As for the exhibition models, those usually are set near the 10:10 time. Everything else has a proper movement and is "for display only".

·

buy this, mount the bracelet upside down, and then wear the watch with the crown properly on the right side as it should be, just for laughs. someone should do that. just for the lulz.

That is not unpopular but now the norm for most people.
