Depends what you compare it with, as well as what are you looking for in a timepiece. If you're looking for fancy out of the box movement tech or new ideas & the best movement decoration, you are looking at the wrong place. Same price should get you much more elsewhere.
If you're looking for a timepiece with the ultimate brand & the recognition that comes with it, they're second to none.
This is where I think people get the feeling of "too expensive" or "good deal" from. It's a matter of perspective in my opinion.
(for me) The truth is that if you only wear pieces you like & enjoy, you find yourself enjoying $500 watches as much as you enjoy $50000 watches. The majority of people doesn't take notice unless it's Rolex, AP, PP. I don't think friends would even notice or ask about it if you wore FPJ at a gathering.
I've been through various scales of "expensive" (within my own limits), but the truth is that the monetary value of the watch never really matters.

The nautilus & Daytona. I mean they are great timepieces, but I am having a hard time understanding how they sell at the prices they sell at...so many better choices (for me).
