Very nice collection.

·

Too many? A year ago I would have laughed & laughed.

Now? It's always one less than the amount that makes your SO go like this...

How many watches is too many watches

Last count I was at 101.

·

Realistically, more than one, unless you wear two at a time

·

If you don't find joy in any of the watches you own or it becomes stressful. Then it's too much. That's my opinion 😊

Was about to say the same thing. Hahaha.

·

Three billion.

I'm nearing the 100 mark and consider my collection to not even be half done (minus any new releases between now and then too lol) sooooo...20 is def not too many hahahaha

For people on a budget or people who buy on impulse, having a self imposed limit such as filling up a watchbox can be quite helpful. It avoids making your hobby an obsession. When your watchbox is filled up but you really want another watch, you sell one of the ones you have to free up a slot. Obviously, if you can afford splurging on watches and going on buying sprees, you don't need anything like this and can collect as many as you want.

very wise words, and something i will learn from, i have 4/5 watches I'd never let go, the others i would but wouldn't get a great deal for them, these are all ones to pass on to my children, or let them wear the cheaper watches now, Casio and Seiko's anyway 👍 thank you for a great reply.

and end up building some kind of FREAK Casio/Seiko MOD 😂

Every brand that is not Seiko, Citizen or any of the other big watch manufacturers

makes the same freak watches I do. You are in the wrong forum if you think modding is making freaks. I build the watches that I want to own with the parts I find attractive while everyone else just has to like whatever Seiko makes.

I mean in the sense you said they all come in little bits, so with each bit that arrives you made a freak watch, as in not knowing which bit was for which actual watch, a bit of a mishmash of all brands you’ve secretly bought 😊

Wasn’t speaking out of turn, probably haven’t put my point across as I was supposed to 👍🏼

I have built with Chinese 2813 movements, Miyota 8xxx series, Seiko NH35 and NH35 movements plus Swiss Ronda 505, 505-24, 515 movements. None of them are compatible with each other so keeping them seperate is easy. Considering that Quartz is so inexpensive to work with there is very little in the way of aftermarket parts for them. The market is flooded with NH35 parts and parts for Swiss automatics are the hardest to find. The thing about Frankenwatches is that they are represented as authentic because they paint the usually Seiko logo on and misrepresent it.

·

With you saying you sneak them in, past your partner i suspect, making it easier to buy more and more. The way I would.

What I was getting at was that you’d buy a watch break it down and ship it in to the house, then forget what part went where and make a completely different watch, scratch your head and think hang on I don’t remember buying that 😂

I don’t mean frakenwatches or freak watch in that sense I mean it in the way you’re sneaking things in haha

·

There is no such thing as too many watches. Maybe you think that if you buy too many in a short time.

Welcome to WatchCrunch Ben! great collection you have there, and it looks like you have room for an About Vintage watch too. We hope you find one you like in our collection 😊

We can't wait to hear what you think of all 4 when you have them on your wrist 😉 and we'll see if Jody wants to review a watch.

·

will you contact him direct?

·

No such thing as “too many.” 😉

·

I find two dozen to be quite a handful since not all are getting the wrist time they deserve.... but i still cant help looking out for more so it's clearly not enough, lol..

·
benandwatch

will you contact him direct?

Yes, unless you have a more direct line than his email? Any specific models you'd like to see his review of? Of course he'll pick the model(s), but would be interesting to know which models you have your eyes on.

·

I like the GMT and the chronograph models, let me know if he responds and maybe mention me haha 👍🏼😊
