We just discovered 75th anniversary of the Omega Seamaster. 25 years ago Omega decided to bring thoses models to the world for the 50th anniversary. An era of excess and good taste both in full gold and a dial inspired by the best work of invicta apparently.
This is no joke, the model is still to be find on Omega website:

I could definitely see a Brosnan era Bond villain wearing that in his volcano den.
This account is verified. WatchCrunch has confirmed that this account is the authentic presence for this person or brand.
I honestly cant decide if I love it or it its too much hmmmm defo one to ponder.
Might have to wait for some videos on the tube
I think I can file this under “so ugly, it is awesome.”
Grotesque in a most ghastly way.
Is the dial on the case back?
Is the dial on the case back?
I think the world is not ready for the caseback
I think these were done in partnership with Armin Strom, who was quite serious about skeletonisation. His watches used to look quite different back then

I think that, sort of, means it's inspired by fancy watchmaking using traditional techniques, Jochen Benzinger does a similar watch still https://www.jochenbenzinger.de/en/home#news. There are a few movie clips on skeletonisation

combining that is how you end up with a watch like the Seamaster. Now make of that what you want 😉 Maybe Invicta ruined it, or Invicta could be a classy watch after all... who knows.
It's definitely a lot to take in design-wise but very fitting for the era.
