New COSC-certified Tissot Heritage watches [Tissot Heritage 1938]

Dear Crunshers,

For some, the watchmaking media act as advertisers for new models. For my part, I consult a Swiss online resale site for the domestic market. In our case, it's : Uhrenschmuck24 [ https://www.uhrenschmuck24.ch/ ].

In their novelty section, I've often noticed that new models have appeared in the catalog even before certain brands or watchmaking groups have announced them.

But I urge you to take this post with a grain of salt - you never know.

Here are the new Tissot Heritage 1938 and a Golden PRX Powermatic 80 :)

Following the Tissot Heritage 1938 Telemeter from 2022.

Opinion :

It would seem that the downsizing phenomenon is having a growing effect within the watchmaking house. In my opinion, this is a good thing, given that for models that claim to be inspired by "heritage": I don't see how offering 42mm models with the R&D capabilities of the Swatch group is faithful to the original models.

Personally, I would have preferred a font closer to the Tissot logo. (and Write “Fabrication Suisse” instead of Swiss Made). And a Manual movement would be nice no?

((Ps. Im a proud Swiss boi, sorry))

Secondly, the Small Seconds variant is an interesting piece (and it has a date??), as it appears to have an additional bracelet to the standard mesh one. On Tissot’s website, it seems that the SS will have 42 hours of power reserve.

Conclusion :

Let’s wait what do the “paid people” have to say on these models and how Tissot will communicate and advertise it :) (and bribe them?)

At the moment we can only discuss and speculate in the comments.

Have a wonderful weekend guys!

The small seconds looks intriguing! The others are nice too but feel they’d were larger, whereas the dial design of the small seconds would visually make it feel more of a 37-38 possibly. Pity about the date inclusion. Glad to see they are using the classic logo too!

Want absolute time accuracy, just look at your phone for the time.

In this day and age, COSC is generally a nice to have (and a way to hike prices up), in all honesty, watches for most of us are a fashion/lifestyle piece. The Tissot Heritage and PRX fall squarely in this category, fashion/lifestyle.

The small seconds and anthracite version interests me the most. It looks like the small seconds version has applied numerals whereas the anthracite looks to be a sandwich dial? 👀 hope it hits the states soon 🤞

·

Gotta say tissot just keeps delivering what it's customers are asking for. These look awesome. I bet we'll see the powermatic in the 36mm and 40mm seastars too. That'll be another hit I think

·

That Small Seconds one is a looker! That being said, while I’m unusually not an “anti-date window” kinda guy, it does seem overly busy on that dial.

·

Its decided for me. I'm going to replace my green PRX with gold one when it releases officially for other regions

·

Gutted they ruined the best looking one with a stupid date complication. At the very least a colour matched date wheel would've made it more bearable 🤯

·

The tiny crown on those heritage models looks like a nightmare to turn but otherwise they look really good. I digging the 2 no date models

·

Love how they look overall, but can't say I'm a big fan of the different logo

The phone? WTF?? Are you insane? The phone just gives a crappy digital number and no seconds - what is the super-accuracy? Nearest minute? Besides I fuc**ing HATE using my phone as a timepiece, it's damn stupid. Too many people are glued to their phones like brain dead bots these days.

These watches are boring, pretty disappointing. If they wanted to make true vintage watches they should have gone for hand-winding movements. The pink watch could be nice but I won't know until I see the watch in real life, which could be several weeks yet. Distribution is so fuc**ng slow.
