Thought I would introduce myself ….er..my watch ..lol . Cool community here (Thanks Max!)

My favorite.. I am a Pittsburgh kid from the sixties. Baseball was king at that time ( before Steeler nation took over.. lol). As my dad was teaching me about the great game.. For him.. Clemente was the gold standard of what a real ball player was.. “5 tool” player before anyone ever really used the term. His generosity and humanity were legendary even back then.. was recently traveling and saw this in the AD’s window. Told my wife the story and she did something she never does.. as she has seen more than enough of my watch obsession 😅..she said to me… “ either you go buy that watch or I will.. either way that watch is coming home” special man, special watch..and a great shared experience.. happy Tuesday y’all!

Is that your photo? If so, great commercial for both watch and car!

Roberto Clemente, special player, great man. I read a post somewhere from an enthusiast that he hopes his pointer date when passed along to a son one day in the future that he can appreciate that time is not infinite, certainly taking a lesson from Roberto Clemente to use our time wisely, to not waste a precious minute. I am not quoting just forwarding the gist of his thoughts conjured by his RC Oris pointer date.

Roberto Clemente was, is, and always will be remembered both as a great player and as a humanitarian. He is definitely the “gold standard “. And, it’s a beautiful watch too!

·

Awesome watch, even better story. Thanks for sharing. Welcome to WC, Bengals fan here so I enjoy the rivalry!

Welcome to the Crunch!

I'm too young to ever have seen Clemente play, but from what I have learned about him, he was a better human than a player, and he was some ballplayer.

Beautiful story to the acquisition of the beautiful watch. May we all be a little more Clemente than Clements.

Welcome to you, your lovely watch and your amazing wife 🙂

This Clemente version is so nice. Don't know much about the man himself but it's a heck of a watch! Could be my evenings reading sorted!

Very nice Oris Roberto Clemente Pointer Date

I’m a Pittsburgh guy myself. And my wife said something similar with my watch as well. Cheers to good wives and nice watches. And Pittsburgh.
