my perfect 6 watch collection atm

So scroll down this post to see what I consider to be the perfect 6 watch collection for me at the moment.

Why 6? my watchbox has 6 slots and I really want to stick to that. I already find it difficult to choose sometimes and to give all my watches their deserved wrist time. I have sold 3 watches recently and will probably sell 1 more to make room in the box (1-2 casios live outside the box).

I already own 3 of these 6 watches and the 4th one is for sure joining the watchbox this summer.

Do you think long term of your watch collection like this? Planning 3-4-5 , however watches in advance? I feel like if I wouldnt, I'd impulse buy affordable watches every month.

I found my taste has not changed but I have come to realise I dont have too much money to spend on high end (for me over 800 of your currency) watches so I think these watches make most sense for me right now.

I find these 6 watches to be different enogh for diversity while also fitting my clothing and lifestyle. I also like the symmetry and balance of having 2 watches from 3 of my favourite brands. You will also notice: no divers... tiny wrist man :D

Tell me what you think! What watch would you swap out?

I already own, regularly wear and love these three:

  1. Seiko Speedtimer

2. Seiko Aplinist (spb117)

3. Lorier falcon III

Now the fun speculative part:

I already tried it on, loved everything about it and its coming in the summer, an absolute classic with the history to back it up, the Hamilton KFA 38mm

Then i would love a Lorier Astra. I love the 50s/60s inspired look, it reminds me of a 1950s Chevy or something like that. I love the lumed ring which at night looks like some sort of celestial body with the lume plop on the seconds hand travelling around it, love the astra name, the beautiful applied indices and dauphine handset, the white dial and "dressier" look would also fill a gap in my collection, would also wear it with casual attire. Its also the exact same case as the falcon, which i know wears beautifully on my 6.5 inch wrist. I just cant find anything i dont love about this watch.

Then for something a bit different... and yes, it is overpriced, but taking the history in account and the connection to 2001 a space odissey and James Bond, I think its worth it. I also love space themed stuff (love the astra for it too) and the thing has a pulsar engraved on the back. I also think it looks really cool, would work great for summer outfits.

Heck of a collection! Well done!

What are the 1-2 Casios living out in the wild? :-)

A MWR 200H, a W86 and the solar/multi band gshock square :)

I owned the Hamilton for a while. Nice watch, good retro feel and pretty well made. A bit pricey brand new, look out for a pre-owned one would be my advice!

For me there’s too much overlap in these pieces.

Each watch on its own is great. However, I wouldn’t be able to decide on a day to day basis between the alpinist, kfa, or falcon.

I would also not be able to choose between the astra or the falcon because they’re so similar.

These watches are kind of filling the same role in the collection.

That being said, I like more diversity in a collection. If that doesn’t matter to you, my opinion doesn’t matter.

Interesting! I do agree, diversity is important to me as well.

But even though the alpi and the KFA are in the same category they look very different to me, different case, wearing exp, dial, hands, indices, bracelet.

And the falcon is vintage retro inspired looks totally different to me. The astra does have the same case as the falcon but the rest is completely different to me :)

I guess they're different to me but also conform to my style/design preferences, so kind of similar in that way.

6 watches is my perfect number for the “core” collection. One type of watch for basically any type of day/situation I find myself in.

I cover off this six watch core collection with my most thoughtful pieces, then am a sucker for impulse buying affordable watches that I enjoy mixing in.
