And it's fixed!

About three months ago I posted that the quickset date wheel in my King Seiko 5626-7110 had broken and how I had ordered a replacement from Vintage Time Australia.

It took about a month for the replacement to arrive and I took it to my watchmaker and sent him some YouTube links from the manufacturer explaining how to do the change just in case, and today I was able to pick it up, in full working condition.

I am very happy to have my watch back, I have missed this one a lot.

The replacement wheel is made of metal as opposed to the original plastic one, so the issue should not happen again.

I hope I can enjoy this vintage beauty for a long time.

Wow! Thank you for sharing. I have the same issue with mine. I really want it to get fixed because I have the model year prior to Seiko being asked by the Swiss to stop using Chronometer label on their watches. Check it out: https://www.watchcrunch.com/fearless2023/posts/wruw-2023-12-24-15b3d73c-fwxmgnhg-278580

The replacement part from VTA with shipping included was 44 euros, it's not cheap, but I think it is worth the price. I believe these watches deserve to be cared for. Contact me if you need any help finding the part.

How’s it running? These were supposed to be super accurate back in the day. Do they hold up?

After the servicing and regulation that my watchmaker did when I bought it, it is running at about -2 spd on the wrist, even if mine hasn't got one of the higher-grade movements (5626B) that were chronometer certified.

That’s pretty good! 👍
