Wise Adamascus Bronze

This is my new Wise Adamascus Bronze. It's a limited edition of 333 units.

I stumbled upon this Thailand-made model about a month ago, right after buying my Seiko SPB147 (the 62MAS with coffee-colored dial and gold indices) and it was love at first sight. As it is a limited edition I couldn't wait and just bought it straight away (after viewing all the YouTube reviews I could find, of course).

In total, it took 4 weeks to arrive, they are hand-assembled and they are having some delays due to high load.

I am blown away by the look and finish of the watch and the packaging, wooden box, and all.

As you can see the watch came vacuum-sealed to avoid oxidation of the bronze. It comes with a green leather strap and a green rubber strap with its buckle sealed as well.

The watch is a perfect size for me: 41 mm in diameter, 12 mm thick, and 47.7 mm lug to lug. The lug width is 20mm.

The glass is a box-shaped sapphire crystal with AR coating and a sapphire display back.

The bezel is ceramic with lumed digits, hands, and indices with Super-luminova X1 which is incredibly bright.

The dial is fume green with a grainy texture (fire pattern, Wise calls it)

The movement is a Miyota 9039 (no date) at 28800 bph and 42 hours of power reserve.

A year ago I didn´t like divers, and now I own three, I didn't think much of green dials, and now I have two green divers, and I didn't like bronze watches, and look at me now. What a journey!

The last photo is a side-by-side with my Seiko MM200 Island Green, which is a bit thicker, but I think the overall look and shape of the watch borrow some design cues from Seiko, which explains why I was instantly drawn by it.

The price is 640 USD after discounts plus import taxes from Thailand.

My problem with WISE is that the hour hand on their stuff reminds me of KITT from Knight Rider:

And once you see it, you can't unsee it.

I actually like it, I think it's original. But it is only in the AD8 line, the rest of their models have different hands. The one in the ADX GMT is also quite different from the usual Mercedes hands other manufacturers use.

Beautiful watch. I really like mine. The art deco hour hand is original and easy to read.

My friend had his delivered yesterday. What a looker!

I ordered and paid for an Adamascus on bracelet in late October and I am still waiting.

I emailed Wise on a Saturday four weeks after I placed my order to ask for an estimated date because the website said to allow 5-10 days for assembly, they replied on the same day apologizing for the delay and confirming my order (this is a limited edition, so the serial number was set during the order) would be ready to be shipped the following Monday, which they did.

The watch arrived on Wednesday afternoon, so it took three days from Thailand to Spain including customs by DHL.

I am happy with the purchase and I will probably buy from them again. I like most of their models and that is something that doesn't happen often for me.

I know some of their products have a pre-order time now, how long was the wait time for your watch when you bought it?

Mid December was the original estimate I emailed them again in early January and the date had been pushed back to mid Feb i'am going to email on Monday to find out what's happening i'am not particularly worried but it is dragging on now.

That's a long wait, I hope you get it soon.

This was my first microbrand purchase, I think this is the main risk with microbrands, on top of the limited quantities, they cannot scale up quickly if the demand is high, and delays will happen if their providers cannot deliver parts, I am guessing the 904L bracelet is culprit here?

Given the great products they are producing, they deserve to be successful, but that also means more pressure for them to deliver without lowering the quality.

Your spot on there must be a delay on the manufactur of the bracelet anyway i'am prepared to wait. Some might not be so patient.

Funny old world I've just received an email this morning my watch has been shipped.
