It’s a beautiful piece, but it needs a little TLC. I’ve used this on my older pieces and I use it on my new ones as well. It sells for anywhere from seven dollars up to 15 USD I’ve seen some places. A little goes along way.
You will be floored with the results. It’s basically a light Caruba wax/polish. I’ve turned many of my Watch collector friends onto it, and they all thanked me. You will not be disappointed. I used it on my sunglasses as well. it acts as a protective instead of scratching into something when it impacts the surface, it tends to slide and do no damage.

Thanks - it’s not my piece - I was at a Vintage Watch event and this watch grabbed my attention
In a short period of time Bulova blatantly ripped off the Royal Oak and the Datejust. It was the beginning of the end of Bulova's relevance as a watch manufacturer. Bulova was sued by Rolex for the Super Seville and was not allowed to make or sell them. They did anyway and Rolex had to sue them again.
This model is the desperate last gasp of a company bankrupt of ideas and flailing in the marketplace. It is not one to be celebrated. It is hard to work up too much umbrage over a 50 year old homage, however.

From what I was told the Bulova is early 70’s late 60’s and Royal Oak came after?
You were told wrong. This is one of those lies that has just propagated throughout history. The Royal Oak was early 70s, the Bulova version comes afterwards.

What was the price point on it?

Just showing a unique Bulova with Gerald Genta design
I love the story and controversy behind that watch! The Bulova Oak! Great watch regardless 👌
I’m so glad is past blatantly ripping off other brands to keep their head about water
I thought Gerald Genta was the OG for luxury integrated sports watch ....

He is the OG😎
What was the price point on it?
They go for £2000 upwards 👍
I would take one of these over an ap,if anything it beats ap on the rare scale 🙄😂🤣
“Before”. Good one 😂
It is a controversial piece.. here’s mine!
Myth has it that bulova rejected the design and Gerald Genta moved on to AP.
Truth probably is Gerald Genta never had ties with bulova where the Royal Oak is concerned.
Like many watches facing the quartz crisis back then, the only way to stay afloat was to “copy” designs of watches that were popular.
It was common to find such Royal Oak pieces and lots of day date copies of Rolex
Whatever it is, I love my piece and the story behind it 👑

Great story - and beautiful piece💛
Bulova is a sleeping giant in the watch world. Hidden gems with almost as much history as any other brand. What an amazing piece. Congrats.

Genta worked at Bulova in the 60s… but the story that they rejected the RO is a lie.
The thread title is wrong… after the Royal Oak is appropriate

Yup, no ties with bulova with regards to the Royal Oak 🤝
Whe need a reissue!
A poor homage of the Spaghetti Scameti iCon 🙄
Beautiful watch! 💯🔥❤️👍
Interesting. I wouldn’t mind picking one up. Any info on the movement? Is it reasonable to service?

It uses an ETA2892.
Pretty straightforward for most competent watchmakers 😀
What was the price point on it?
I don’t know - didn’t enquire to be honest

Bulova started production of this in 1976.
Thanks for clarifying.
Possibly of interest - we put it to the sword a while back
