The “Camera Body” Dial Review
What I love most and can’t stand about my new watch. It’s to celebrate a good work year with my twin brother. We both got a Calatrava each. We had hoped for something else, but this is still something to enjoy. Somehow, we become like little kids opening a new toy!!! This is that feeling.
If we aren’t into hype watches, I’d like to introduce you to my latest purchase. I am so impressed with this classic timepiece.
Made of white gold & the dial is something to behold. I thought it was like asphalt at first but I was corrected: “classic camera body”.
I love wearing this to dinners and special events. To be honest it’s a stealth watch. Not many know what it is until they walk up close.
In todays world, we’d love to be offered a sports model this or that, sometimes we have to be grateful with what we have been given or offered.
I’ve got so much joy out of this. Cannot wait for what this community has to say. :D personally, I’ve got a lot of sports watches and the collection is getting full. When by AD offered this to me, I had to take an honest step in decision making. It was a good year and I got it at the end of 2023.
Some watches are great at marking occasions. For my brother and myself. A great year working together and experiencing as much as we can.

In the world of watch making a PP is still a PP. I might not get the call for another, but that being said, I recommend to enjoy what you’ve been blessed with and make most of it.

Congrats on a year to celebrate. I politely ask, how is it hard to wear everyday? Short of water activities this has you covered. It is under the radar, high quality, appropriate in casual to business settings.
This is personal, but I’d have never bought it if I planned to stick it in the safe, each their own, but you should enjoy the watch, it can handle it. Wear it, use it, enjoy what you and your brother accomplished and often be reminded by that watch while looking down at your wrist. What a daily joy that would be.
You got a modern Patek that honors its past, you are in like a secret club that got a Patek, but most people don’t know it’s a Patek, even some watch folks from a distance wouldn’t know it’s a Patek, let alone from the Calatrava series. I dig it.
Sports watches are currently overrated and hype watches are just that ... HYPE watches. This means that their current market value is way overstated and their availability is artificially manipulated to sustain the hype.
What you got, my friend, is a true watch lover's watch! It shows passion, it shows appreciation of craftsmanship, and quiet luxury. I commend you on this choice - no regrets and, most importantly, ENJOY!

Love the watch and design but not sure these are still the "Calatrava" as we imagine them. They went a bit AP on this one - modern twist for younger audience.
This is the #1 calatrava I lust after. You sir have fantastic taste. It truly is a wonder to behold!

Love the 5226g I fell in love, I’ll likely never have the discretionary funds to obtain one so I went with what I thought was the next best thing with the Habring Erwin pilot. Congrats on having a grail piece!!

That’s a beautiful watch, no contest.
I’m a PP fan, have a sector dial and an Aquanaut. For all of their well appreciated quality, I do think their pricing is slightly ambitious and I hate the lack of product , an annoyance shared with Rolex
Great review ! i am still on the fence for this watch, i have previously rejected my AD. Hope PP will make a real sport watch.
I honestly did not like this watch even if I saw it in person. But, after reading your review, I think it may start to grow on me
