Yes that’s a good one. Another is “Not being too big for me” - though I can’t specify an exact size as it depends on the watch. The omega diver 300m is too big for me, the g shock Square isn’t - despite being technically larger.

With my wrist being 6.25", I hear you. The struggle is real!
Repetitive obsession. I need to gravitate towards a watch, research it, see it in person, understand where and how I’ll use it, and how it will fit in the collection. This includes making notes and generally fantasizing whether the watch has lasting power. I know this sounds rediculious, but if I’m dropping $4k, $7k, $12k, I really only want the watch if I’m keeping it for life. For less expensive watches, no, but I have another process so I don’t feel like I’m wasting my money.
In terms of physical elements, I agree sapphire crystal, for watches outside of cheap, and bracelets with adjustment or quick change, or ability to do tool less adjustment.
Second the motion of many already -- case size that fits well with our 6.25-inch wrist. For me specifically, my sweet spot is 34-38mm Diameter, and 40-45mm LTL. And, it should captivate me. 😍

Same size here..
there are advantages of course - eg access to a whole bunch of smaller watches some larger wristed enthusiasts pass on..

Well, the watch must feel comfortable to wear, and it puts smile on my face
Unless it's just a fun watch, date is a must.

It’s gotta tell time…and be operational.
These days no date and manual winding
Has to fit my wrist size
No hang over action moving forward!
I have no "must have" rules. Plenty of "must not" though.
