Not liking homage watches doesn't necessarily make you a snob. Some people just don't care for fakes. Also, some people are Ok with not owning things they can't afford., and don't feel the need to buy copies. Prepare the firing squad!

Great read! The idea of snobbery as a judgment vs an opinion is spot on. I absolutely believe it works both ways. I've been in to many forums and comment sections that dump on someone for being an idiot for spending so much on a watch. As long as it's not affecting your life, what do you care?

Fantastic collection! I currently have 9 in my collection, and I wear them all. I simply rotate them 1 week at a time. In my mind, the key is to have watches you REALLY like. That sounds simple, but u think many people fall into the impulse buys and have watched they're Ok with. If you truly love all of your pieces, none will fall out of use.

I'm not an homage person whatsoever. Personally, I'm ok not owning something I can't (or won't) afford. A fake version of it wouldn't satisfy me. That being said, that's my opinion. I would never push that on anybody.

Absolutely agree with you. I think people try to convince themselves that they don't want pricier watches and fall into the trap of buying tons of "cheaper" watches. I think its better to have 1 or 2 watches you really love than 10 you're ok with.

This is an interesting topic. Thanks for bringing it up. My two cents is that I think marketing in general is greatly overestimated. I hear all the time about how Rolex is simply a product of marketing. That's it? That explains it? I just feels like it's a vast over simplification. Look, I think for most, marketing may pique your interest in something. In the end, you are making the choice as to what you're interested in and what you purchase.
