Omega servicing center or Nah?

Been struggling for awhile now.

Loving the patina look but yet feel frustrated sometimes to read the time at night.

Read that if you bring to Omega servicing center, they’ll do a full re-lume even if you did not request for it. (Collectors feel it caused the watch to lose its value) In this case, would you rather send to omega servicing center or just go to for other watch servicing?

I don't get the obsession with "patina" people have. When I have a watch, I want it working properly.

The only value in the patina is in selling the watch as "vintage". If you don't plan to sell, why worry about keeping it original?

See you are not using the patina to your advantage. You're suppose to look for another omega with full lume 😂. You have the patina omega and the non patina Omega.

I'd keep the patina and just use my phone for telling the time

Omega service a watch outside of warranty? Are you mental?!

If it needs service, use a reliable local watchmaker. Unless, of course, you are just aching to give Omega $900+ of your hard earned money.

Well, if you can afford a watch, you better make sure you can afford the servicing I suppose? 😉 Plus been hearing countless stories about how private watchmaker kind of screw some watches over when it was sent in.

So, whether $900+ is worth it or not is entirely subjective imo. cheers!

That's my struggle too. Plus I don't think I will ever sell this piece from my collection. Thanks for sharing mate! 🙂

Thanks for sharing your insights! Totally agree with you. It depends on whether can I live with it and whether I want it to be fully functional or not.

Hmmm, on that note, I just might go ahead with the servicing and re-lume.

Sure, you take your car to the dealer for repair after the warranty is expired? I sure hope not.

No good watchmaker is going to damage your Omega. The kiosk in the mall, certainly but not someone who knows their art.

Your money, go for it.
