Cartier Santos Galbee 29mm too small for men?

Hi all, been pondering for the LONGEST now whether to grab a Cartier Santos Galbee 29mm or not. Main concern is with regards to the sizing in general. Do anyone happen to own a piece and would you advise from your personal experience? P.S: Yet to measure my wrist size, but just putting this question out there. Thanks a lot! :) Image credit: https://fewerfiner.com/products/cartier-santos-galbee-two-tone

Are you comfortable wearing it? Is what matters. If you are. It's not to small.

No such thing as a watch to small for men. But there may be some men that are too big for the watch.

you have a point. haha

That's true. Only thing is I haven't come across one that I can try on. So looking online and considering whether or not to grab it. 😀

I think you should try it on before you buy it. It's just a suggestion. If you have other watch that size you have something to compare it to.

Indeed. Will try my luck to see if there's anyone selling locally. So far the smallest I ever went for was 34mm and it's a circular shape, so less comparison to the santos which is squarish. thanks!

Good luck let me know how it works out.

I am a tall guy, 18cm wrist, and I am currently wearing a 34mm C-shape vintage IWC. It works perfecfly, it is super comfortable. A square Cartier with integrated bracelet should correctly fit a lot of men wrists ;-)

Its probably to small for many men, but itnlooks good on you, enjoy it and wear it with pride

Depends on your wrist size and personal preference. When I comes to my watches, my opinion is the only one that really matters. Saying that though, I do prefer larger watches.

  1. Try it on your wrist

  2. Take a quick picture of it on your wrist

  3. Post it here.

  4. We will decide. 😎

On my wrist it would look ridiculously small but still doable as it would wear like jewelry rather than a watch. I don't go for the jewelry look myself but with a Cartier it could make sense.

On the models wrist in the picture you posted it looks good. It really depends on your wrist size and desired look imo.

Wear what youre comfortable with, not what people are comfortable seeing you wear.

If that’s it on your wrist in the photo, it doesn’t look bad at all!

My older brother purchased a Santos 80s iteration but the date was at 3:00, watch is now worn by his widow who is not a big woman, very slender wrist. I also owned a Santos but felt it was too small during the 80s, 90s. my wife who is petite took ownership when I stopped wearing it, eventually she moved on to her Roadster and 36mm Ballon Bleu. I voted too small but I wear watches mostly bigger than 40mm as a personal preference. I do note that the ladies have been buying bigger watches while many guys are wearing much smaller. Just this morning I saw my wife trying on my Pams which are 44mm, seems to be a fashion trend.

Way too small for me to like, but that's me, not you. If you like a watch that small, wear it.

VERY sound advice!

I'm finally flogging the urge out of myself to buy a watch I've never tried on or handled.

Sometimes it was just rookie Stars in My Eyes impulsivity that drew me to an online purchase of a watch I wasn't personally familiar with.

In addition to not previously knowing about the fit and feel I've also experienced that disappointing meh feeling from a watch that is otherwise well regarded in our community. This can be an expensive epiphany.

On the flip side I've occasionally handled a watch that wasn't on my radar screen at all but instantly felt that elusive "magic" on the wrist. I still buy watches online but "mostly" if I've handled the model before. I'm still a work in progress.

I'm kind of obsessed with Bulgari at the moment solely because of a watch gathering where I was able to try one on. The same with Zelos and Junghans.

Test drive advised as mileage may vary.

I was in Cartier recently and had a rude awakening. I was always under the impression that the Cartier Tank large would be my size. I have a 6.5inch flat top wrist. I can even pull off a 51/52 l2l without overhang. I thought I figured it out until my wife pointed out that I have large caveman hands that would make the the Cartier tank large looks too dainty. Saying that, I’m wearing my 34mm IWC ingenieur for a week straight and it looks normal. Lesson from this totally useless story is that try it on! And if you like it… ROCK IT!

And yes… never forget!

You really ought to be asking people you're attracted to, its their opinion that seems to matter in cases like these

I have the same watch and it’s not too small imo 🤙❤️
