Seiko Mini Turtle Padi

Currently got the Padi Mini Turtle brand new at a good price. I love the size, it's really compact and very comfortable to wear. It looks chunky or stubby but wears nicely on wrist. Second is the dial, the pattern on it is quite mesmerizing. The lume is great as always!

This is my first Seiko Diver, and the bezel action is quite different. It's smooth and clicky at the same time unlike other divers I have from Casio and Certina.

There's one main thing I don't love with my example of the Seiko Mini Turtle, the crown. The knurling around the crown is quite sharp and unrefined, also the screw in and out action is quite gritty. I'm concerned that I'll be damaging it every time I use it.

To Seiko Mini Turtle owners here, do you have the same issues? Or should I be concerned? Let me know your thoughts.

It shouldn’t be; perhaps get it checked.

It is a lovely reference; wears well, and heck of a lume.

Enjoy in good health

Thanks! I'll have it checked.

Not trying to be critical but I thought a turtle seiko was a distinct shape. Like this..

I think any "Tonneau" shaped case from Seiko are described as a "Turtle". In YouTube they call this one the Mini or Baby Turtle.

Lovely!

My crown was also “gritty” and hard to screw down. I unscrewed it, pulled it out and turned the watch upside down to expose the threads and put a drop of house hold oil on it and it seems good now.

Wow! Tried it and worked. Thank you! It's much smoother now.
