Nodus Dive GMT

New member here with my first post, and my first "real" watch purchase. Upgrading from a $25 Timex Easy Reader kind of guy. I decided on the $500 Nodus Dive GMT Automatic Mechanical collaboration with Watch Clicker.

I am a total newbie to nice watches, but I have to say I am very happy with my purchase. I like a lot of things about this watch.

I live in California so it is fun to buy a watch designed and assembled in Los Angeles (though with Nodus regulated Seiko NH34 movement).

I like the fact that this 50 watch limited edition combines the Nodus Sector Dive with the Nodus GMT to create something otherwise not available in the Nodus line - a dive GMT with 150m water resist and dive bezel, but also GMT and date complication. The beautiful Sector Pilot was my other choice from their line.

The unnumbered bezel works well for me, since I am not a diver and can use this for either elapsed time or countdown timing, or in the 12 position as an easily readable minute hand marker. As an attorney, I think I will use it to time client telephone calls for my bills.

I love the supple rice bead bracelet and original non-Nodus X clasp, perfect fit removing 4 links for my 7" wrist.

I was surprised to see custom engraving on the solid back plate saying this was watch 14 of 50 in the series. I probably would have preferred transparent backplate showing the movement, but I'll get over it.

This is a 39mm watch at the bezel, which is the relevant visual measurement. Seems right for my 7" wrist.

Watch Clicker is cool, but I was honestly not digging the Watch Clicker logo at 12 o'clock when I first looked at this watch. But the option to get the Sector Dive with the Sector GMT sold me on the functionality of this as my first real watch. I am really liking the whole Nodus design vibe.

I see the Stainless Steel bezel version I bought is now sold out, but they still have the black DLC bezel for sale.

Looking forward to how this watch collection hobby might play out, I am thinking a focus on microbrands might be fun, and more affordable.
