Smiths Everest

Hi guys,

I’m considering buying a smiths Everest and wondered if anyone had handled or bought one recently?

I nearly pulled the trigger about 8 months ago, but there seemed to be a lot of people complaining about the clasp and then customer service issues around the clasp.

It looks as though it now has a new clasp and presumably it’s all been resolved, but any help would be appreciate!

Thanks in advance

@sora_c just posted about getting one.

I haven't heard about this before, sounds like a good offer. Although I struggled to determine if I found the official website for reference.

It's a nice watch. I had one but ended up selling it, but not beacause of any issues, I just never ended up wearing it much. Good examples show up frequently on the used market at decent prices.

I just received it! I do love it and I haven‘t found any faults with it. I had watched youtube reviews and it seemed the old models had clasp issues. I also read threads and forums of people having difficulty with the owner as well. I guess for me, I emailed him because I forgot to place my apartment number on my shipping address for the watch and he never replied for a confirmation so I was a bit nervous about the watch going to the front desk of my apartment without a designated place. But it came through.

The advice I give to get one is get on the web page early. These things sell out in literal seconds. Use a desktop computer rather than a laptop or phone with good internet and refresh constantly. Once you get one in the cart, put your info quick. Lol I was shaking when I was placing my info as fast as I could (hence forgetting placing my apartment number). You usually receive it in about 2 weeks time.

You have to be OK with the Miyota movement... it keeps the cost low, but the whirly mechanism sounds... cheap.

I wish Eddie would drop in a 2824, or equivalent Sellita... it's clear people are willing to pay high prices on these based on the secondary market, so (IMO) there's room to ramp up the movement and just charge more out of the gate. That said, he's not going to do it because I think he likes to keep the price accessible and he's on to a good thing at the moment.  Switching movements would be a headache for him.
