G-SHOCK GBD200 Worth It?

I’ve been looking at the GBD200. Is it worth it to get one if I already have an Apple Watch? My main draw to getting one of these is I’d wear it in situations I wouldn’t wear my Apple Watch. Would love some of y’all’s thoughts!

I bought one to replace my Apple Watch and it was a total fail.

The run tracking is unusable it’s so bad.

Notifications are also awful.

That said the watch looks great and the screen is great. So if you just want it as a g shock then go for it. Just forget the smart features.

I sold mine and went back to Apple. Next time I’ll go for a classic g shock with Solar and no smart features.

I really do like it for the screen as it looks super crisp. However at that point I’d be paying all that just for the screen. Could be worth it just to get the basic DW5600 model…

I am holding out for when they hopefully release a MIPS display regular square.

Honestly, no. I wanted one for the step counter, but the app is difficult to use and not intuitive. The watch is cool and display is great but for its purpose, stick with the Apple Watch. I use a tough Solar Gshock for my tough workout/work watch.

I bought one just as a G-Shock, I turn off all the other stuff, so if you need the Apple, keep it, but I am hooked on the MIP display, very cool. I bought Jays & Kays adapters and put a NATO/Zulu strap on it and love it! edit- Plus it has Bluetooth so it is super easy to set time, alsrms, reminders, etc, plus the alarm also vibrates, so that's also cool.

Yeah- I agree, a classic square with the MIP display would be awesome. Plus I understand that MIP displays can do color, hopefully Casio comes up with a 5610-sized square with color MIP display!

I chose the GBX 100 and glad I did. I think it has the edge on looks & quality feel. Also has tide, sunrise/set & moon phase info.

If you accept that first and foremost it is a G-Shock you will come to accept and then value the additional functionality. I don't find the interface that difficult, the step tracker is accurate and I always run with my phone so just tether it to my phone's GPS - it's then on point.

I have one and did a review on here (but forgot to post it under reviews!) and it has its flaws for sure. If using for the fitness tracker etc then don't bother, a lot better out there. If using as an everyday watch then its great. I would also agree with time standss I would look at the GBX 100.
