Yes, they are worth it, if and only if you are going to use it to regulate your watches or at least some of your watches, I am not saying that you should open and adjust an Omega or a Rolex, but for the Seiko, citizen Tissot, if you could do it
Right, only if you regulate your watches. You can get by with an app, but as far as reliable amplitude readings go, the timegrapher will beat the app IMHO.

Even then the amplitude is an educated guess.

Right, it often also varies depending on whether the watch is fully wound or not, and a number of other conditions. A low amplitude reading (for a given movement) is however a good indicator to stop what you're doing and consider possible root causes.
You use it to tell the time ? Hadnโt even thought of that, whatever next?
No. Absolutely not.
I donโt need that level of OCD in my life Iโve enough going on already haha
Beautiful watch. The Omega is very underrated and its design is timeless. One of the best looking Chronographs design wise๐ฏ #omega
This will sound nuts but I purchased a time grapher app for the iphone app that uses an external (wired) microphone. It works really well for a hobbyist and so far has been pretty accurate. Itโs called Timegrapher X. Costs about $25.
