Well said, I love my automatic watches, but nothing beats a good solar quartz for pick up and go, my Citizen PMD56 has a nice easy toolless micro adjust on the clasp, makes for super easy adjustments while out during the summer months
If quartz I'd recommend the Citizen EO2028-06L, solar powered and 37mm case
If mechanical I'd recommend the Vostok Amphibia 120512 for the sub $200 price point
Baltic Aquascaphe Classic Blue Gilt for the ~$600 range
Or the Longines Hydroconquest L3.780.4.96.6 for the $1K to $1.5K range
These are all 40mm or below for case size and offer at least 200m of water resistance, the Longines retails closer to $2K, but is readily available for well under $1.5K
If you want the no muss no fuss option then get the Citizen Eco-Drive diver, otherwise it'll just depend on your price sensitivity and design preference
