Does anyone have good experience with SINN watches?

Looking for a Chrono online. Should I buy it directly from SINN or through the AD in Detroit? Much appreciated if you can share your experience or expertise!

I briefly had the 556A RS and the 144. They are both excellent watches, but I found the lume quite lacking, especially on the 556. They were both the most accurate automatics I've ever had.

Still, I find myself always checking prices for the 256 and the 356. I hope you find the 356 you want.

I’ve bought 2 Sinns through watchbuys online. It went fine, no complaints. I prefer buying in person of course but it’s not an option with Sinn. Love the watches. Been eyeing the 356 as well but it’s availability is pretty sparse.

·

I’d buy it from the dealer in the US so you don’t have to deal with customs fees importing from Germany. Sinn makes a great watch!

Thank you! Did you get those from the AD? It sounded like you still own those watches. Appreciate it.

Thank you! They seem like good watches and brand as well. Did you have good experience with custom sevice from the AD? Hope you will get another watch from SINN. Appreciate it.

I have purchased 2 Sinn watches from Watchbuys. They are an excellent company, and very responsive. Sinn watches are very well made. They have a quality feel to them.

I have a 104 and have nothing but good things to say. I bought mine through Watchbuys who is the Sinn AD for the US market and they were excellent to work with.

Good customer service so far. Haven’t had to deal with any warranty or service issues, but I’ve always heard good things about that as well. It was a good buying experience.

Thank you! Any discount when you bought those from the AD? Online purchases don’t have discount I think. Thanks again.

Is the Chrono with 38.5mm and what’s the lug to lug? I have a 6.25 inch wrist. Thanks!

I love my Sinn. Excellent watch. I have a 103 St Sa. Very comfortable. Bright lume. It’s my favorite in my collection.

I had a 556 MOP. Great watch. Ended up selling because I was missing a date function and wished it had more polish on the case and bezel, like it did on the hands and indices. If I got another Sinn, I think I'd go for one of these

I got the 556 through a trade on Reddit and 144 on Chrono24, from a Japanese seller when the Yen was really terrible against the dollar. I think I paid ~$1,200 total, inclusive of shipping and taxes.

·

I've purchased 3 Sinn watches from WatchBuys. Service was excellent. The 105 arrived running and set to the correct time, time zone and date!

·

Love my Sinn 857 UTC VFR. It's my most worn watch. It was purchased through Watchbuys back in 2020. It took awhile to reach me, but everything did during that time so not Watchbuys fault. It wears smaller than the 43mm diameter and 49mm lug to lug would suggest (Fliegers are supposed to be a little bigger anyhow). It is wonderfully thin at 12mm, fully tegimented, bidirectional timing bezel, 200m WR w/ screw down crown, super legible dial (day or night), and the UTC complication is a nice bonus. Just an all around solid tool watch.

Love Sinn. I have a 556 and 104 I had a 103 chronograph which I sold.

Perhaps you might want to have a look at a Hanhaet 417. IMO a perfect German chronograph.

I also second the Hanhart 417ES recommendation. ✅

I have nothing but praise for Sinn. I have an 556i and it is well designed and well built. I bought it online from Watch Buys and I have no complaints.

·

I've never owned a Sinn myself but I used to be a big fan them I found out that the anti-reflective coating is on the outside and it can easily scratch off leaving a noticeable mark. As a Sinn would be a big grail purchase that killed it for me. Harsh, I know but a real concern.

To own one is to love one!

·

Got the 556I RS, very accurate and comfortable on the rubber by sinn. My daily stunner 🔥

Yes I have looked at a few as well. It’s between SINN and hanhart, except SINNs have date and hanharts don’t. Thanks!

What’s your experience as a hanhart owner? How did you get their watches, through their AD or Hanharts website? Thanks again!

·

I absolutely LOVE my EZM 1.1S. It is so incredibly easy to read. The chronograph is a dream to use. I have zero regrets on this purchase. I cannot speak on the AD aspect, I picked this up on the used market.

These are the 2 I have.

Both great solid watches.

There are 2 AD’s in the UK. One in Leicester and the other just outside Bolton. I got one of my Hanharts at each of them.

Which is your favorite? I have been looking at the Chrono one. That one caught my attention. It had two year warranty. Any issue with them yet? Thanks a bunch!

·

I have owned a 556, 104 and U50. I have always purchased through Watchbuys which is the US dealer. Great service and love the watches!

·

Love the Sinns, and I have had great 😝 with Watchbuys in NC. Good customer service, and I have bought a few from them. GL on the purchase and enjoy; they are great watches!

The 417 chronograph is the favourite but the versatility of the Preventor9 means gets more wrist time. I also like that the Preventor9 has a clever on the fly micro adjustment on the bracelet. Both keep excellent time. No issues at all with any of them.

In fact I’m considering adding a Hanhart Pioneer Silva as, apart from my Sinn 104, I don’t have a white dial watch.
