Hodinkee and publishers own website has it for a bit cheaper but the shipping fee and duties killed the deal. She ended up getting the book from Amazon. No shipping or duties with them.
I always give the same advice. Never buy based on pictures and without trying. A watch looks very different in person than it does otherwise. Having said that, I have a 7.25 inch wrist and tried both tank and JLC reverso and instantly fell in love with the JLC. If price is a concern, look at the secondary market. I got mine which is an early 2010 model for about $5k USD. What I won't suggest is go and buy a watch for hype. As your tastes involve, and you learn more about watches, you don't want to be in a position where you regret your buying decision. Hype/brand recognition should be the least of your worry and my 2 cents, jlc is better recognized by people who are into watches. Much more than the tank but buy what you like and would keep forever !
