Q: How did you get into watch collecting?

I always liked watches. For my 40th I was gifted a Breitling Emergency Mission. That started it all. 17 years on and a few quid lighter. But there is nothing better than that feeling when you look down at your wrist and see something you find beautiful and is packed with feelings and memories.

Q: What was the first watch you ever owned?

My Grandfather bought me the stereotypical Timex.

Q: Do you have a watch with a particularly interesting story behind it?

The UTC Module for my Breitling B1 was in Service over Afghanistan and the Gulf. It was traded in for a Co-Pilot. I was lucky to get it. Got fully restored and dial changed from Black to Slate to match my B1 Chronometer.

Q: What is one piece of advice you have for someone just getting into watches?

Try as many on as possible. Go with your gut choice. Marketing is often a fraud.

Q: What brands have been getting your attention lately?

Always Breitling. Although I have picked up a Nomadic Marai which is a Belfast based watch linked to a lot of Northern Ireland Engineering Heritage. I have a few other pieces but I keep getting drawn back to Breitling. There are many new pieces by many, many manufacturers out there which are also catching my eye currently. I think this obsession is going to grow further.

Q: What is your grail watch and why?

My Grail Watch was a Breitling Cosmonaute 50th Anniversary LE. Finally got one a few years back. There are so many I want, but this one was my "Grail" Watch.
