I would keep the Rolex Submariner 114060, but that's just me. Is that Datejust a ref. 16018? Gorgeous watch.

Yes it’s 16018

To men it’s a no brainer to keep your sub cos it looks way better compared to the gaudy full gold DJ

·

Call me crazy but I feel I’d maybe take the DJ? Hear me out… the sub is beautiful and perhaps even the better looking watch but it’s a diver to me… and while Rolex wears the crown, I feel I have a ton of diver options that I’d still enjoy rocking in place of the sub. An all-gold DJ just feels like something I couldn’t substitute easily for. Or maybe I’ve been drinking too much tonight and I am feeling it 😂

·

I would say, do what you heart says. If you are not anymore I love with the Sub but you will enjoy the full gold DJ, go for it!

For sure the value for the Sub will get most likely more up in value. However watches are there to enjoy and wear and not to invest!

·

Personally, I would go for the DJ just because you have other watches that can fit the same role as the sub, but that's up to you!

The reason I’m considering trading it because I have the Rolex yachmaster that can filled the void i trade.

I fell in love with 18k gold watch when I got my daydate and my new acquired omega 18k constellation

it just hits differently on my wrist. There’s something special about it.

Yes! I don’t invest in watches and wait for it to grow in value. I love wearing it. It’s not the I’m not in love with my sub anymore, it’s just there’s another watch I have in mind. That’s the Rolex datejust 18k.  I will def enjoy the DJ however would I regret trading My sub.  😞  that’s the dilemma.

I agree!  I just don’t want to regret trading my sub. however, there’s something that’s filling up my head.

Any reasons you’re not ever trading your sub?

my reason is that because I have my rolex Yachtmaster 16622 that filled the void. It’s basically is the same watch. only it’s the luxury version of the sub.

The sub has a more "tool" appeal than the yachmaster and quite a different vibe to it. I personally would keep the sub

·

Yeah I felt the same Before.

I thought wearing a gold rolex was going to be over the top and in your face.  Man, was I wrong!  When I wear my Rolex daydate, the gold feels rights on my wrist.  It’s not a watch that screams “look at me, look at me!”  Its not as gaudy as the pictures seems to impose.  You can wear it with  a white tee and jogger

My absolute favorite of all the Rolex sports watches. So pure.

The all gold DJ is truly a special piece of Rolex history. If you have a daily wearer like the yacht-master to take the place of the sub, I would go for the DJ. Not many out there like it, it’s a classic!

Alongside the DJ, a no-date Sub is the other quintessential Rolex for a good reason. Seeing how you have a Ref. 18038 Day-Date that ticks the box for "classic gold Rolex" in your collection, and you also have a SS DJ as well, it makes sense to me to keep the Sub in your collection. Unless the gold DJ was in exceptional condition, the dial is rare(r), or you're mad in love with it, I think you'd regret parting with the Sub.

Yeah no date sub is prolly one of the iconic Rolex there is. Everyone from james bond to a regular wears them.   That’s the reason why I have this watch for over 5 years now and it’s tough to make that decision to whether to trade it or not.
Since I acquired my daydate last year, I’ve been on a mission to try to acquire another gold watch.  So 2 weeks ago, I recently acquired this omega 18k sold gold.  It has been on my mind to try to add another solid rolex gold watch in my collection.  The mere etirate statement I could use to myself is “you don’t know what you have until it’s gone.”
