I'm of course biased, but if you consider a quartz to be more user friendly everyday, then something like my 36mm Eterna Kontiki with 200M, screw-in crown and good lume might suit...
Said Nephew finally received his new ML watch today and he seemed pleased enough with it. Later his Mum sort of found-out how much it likely cost and gave me a mild ticking-off, which I probably deserved. It may be 'only' entry-level luxury to many of us lot jaded on 10K+ Omegas and the like, but sometimes it's as well to remember that around 1K is a lot of money in context to an item that typically is displayed in the £30-£200 range in the window of a high-street chain jewelers.
You could argue that the designers of this piece missed a trick by not just specifying markers only at 12, 6 and 9 positions - thereby not dispoiling the beauty of the 'models' on the dial🤔 - What am I saying! Of course they just should never have made it in the first place...😆
I wouldn't knock anyone who gets off their behind and puts time and effort with the aspiration for creating something. I'm assuming it's a case of 'needs must' for you from a financial perspective - but regardless I feel that this watch is likely going to attract some hate.
Big ask to be able to find something as iconic as that new Cartier of yours - but you can always try, (and maybe feel smug as you look at hundreds of watches that don't measure up)...
