How Have We Not Realized?

Occasionally, there's a post or comment from a Cruncher asking when WRUW resets, so they can post during the correct timeframe to not lose their Wristy streaks.

The answer to us being able to track it has been staring us in the face all this time and we haven't realized. Or some did but didn't share the secret.

The secret is using your GMT or world timer to track the correct time zone!

Which is the correct time zone? Based on my observation of refreshing a full WRUW page at 2am Mountain time and getting a blank page in return, it seems the correct time zone to track is Alaska time zone or GMT-8.

Seems an odd time zone to choose, right? Well, I know Max (Mr. WatchCrunch) is in Seattle, so you could track Pacific Time (GMT-7) in case the DST settings on the server aren't functioning.

This might work best for Crunchers in Europe or ASPAC as the settings are mostly aligned to our natural day for us in the Western Hemisphere.

Usually these things are based on San Francisco time.

Same Pacific time zone as Seattle, true; BUT personal, functional experience says it's not.

Yes. This is mostly for people that get busy and want a way to know when they need to post WRUW to keep their streaks going. If you're so busy you can't be on the app/website all day, and aren't in the Western Hemisphere, it can be a challenge to post your WRUW at the correct time.

But using our GMT's for this is part of the fun of being a watch enthusiast/Cruncher

No one is saying post time is incorrect. What they are saying is when they sleep during the middle of the server's day and has a hectic day, sometimes they miss posting WRUW.

Tracking the server's time zone helps.

I've used the website from day one of my joining and have seen numerous people get crossed up as to when they needed to post for their post to be counted by the Wristy badge tracker.

If you haven't, good for you; this post isn't for you.

I know it’s 4 AM locally for me because I work midnights and sometimes I get frustrated working over half my shift before I can post my WRUW.

10am for me. Perfect time for a tea break at work and get my shot posted.

Sorry my dark practicer of the force. It's been a minute since I stopped by. As always we can come by and get something valuable. Thanks my Jedi friend. Ironic I just happen to be wearing one of my GMTs today lol.
