Goodbye Ol' Hoss

Ol' Hoss, as you near the end of our journey together, I just want to say you were a true friend from the beginning.
When I first laid eyes on you, you were the best thing I laid eyes on. Sure there were fancier lads out there, but for the trouble you were (not much), there wasn't a finer piece I'd rather sling over a wrist than you. It's true that others kinda snickered at you behind your caseback. They didn't know what we knew and truth be told, they might have been a bit jealous of you. You were the first, and they would never have full hold of my heart like you once did.
We had a lot of good times together, you & me. The cabin, California, Vegas. Then I got careless and you got injured. You still worked almost as well as always, but there were times I could see that you just couldn't do what I asked of you; what was needed. Wasn't your fault, but it killed your spirit just the same. I tried to gussy ya up, but we both knew the end was drawing near. There were younger, hardier options out there that could do a better job than you could now.
So, ol' friend, it's time you retire to that great big watch box in the closet where you'll be gone, but never forgotten. Vaya con dios, Ol' Hoss.

At least set the bezel back to 12 on the way out.  There needs to be some dignity, wth?

I’d pour one out, but then I saw the brand, so I grabbed a bottle of champagne instead.

Just kidding.  A 21 tick salute to your dearly departed wrist comrade there.
