I feel very fortunate that I agree with this sentiment. Has saved me a ton of money I otherwise would have spent on a Shunbun and a Snowflake, among others.
I’m with you 100%. At their respective pricepoints, I don’t think you can find a better finished watch. Currently have the SBGW231 and the SLGA009. The SBGW231 costs a little over 4k and is better finished than Rolex and Omegas costing 2-3x that.
I want to want to get a modern grand Seiko. The finishing is amazing, the movements show great engineering, and the attention to detail is awesome. I am waiting for the one that will move me... Still waiting. The blue kirazuri came close... The wait goes on

I like that it breaks up the symmetry and makes it more unique honestly but there are spring drives with the reserve on the back now

I like asymmetrical designs. It's just a weird quirk I have never liked on watches. Just like how I love gmt divers and I don't dive or travel very often so they are pointless. At least your preference is accomplishing something 🤣😂. They just make amazing dials and I think less is more sometimes.
