Bezel-Watches under ca. 1,000 $€£

Hello fellows,

it's time again to throw your hats into the ring.

I love watches with bezels, but I'm one of those who doesn't dive with their watches. So it doesn't has to be a diver. It can be also racing or gmt watch. I enjoy their way of framing the dials and as a kind of decoration with ceramic or sapphire bezels. So only functional tool watches are not my taste.

So here are the rules:

  • Rotating bezel (diver, racer, gmt)
  • Shining bezel (ceramic or sapphire)
  • Size: Under 43 mm
  • "Clean" minimalistic dial. Not to many figures, text or numbers.
  • From a brand with good reputation (No chinese, Ali Express or Kickstarter stuff)
  • Under around 1,000 $€£ (it's ok if they are few bucks over the limit as soon if it's reasonable)
  • Elegant looking. No only functional tool watch.
  • Quartz are allowed if the rest of the watch is great.

I've given here some examples like

  1. Mido Ocean Star
  2. Tissot Seastar
  3. Certina DS PH200

So...now it's up to you! Which watches do you get in your mind? I'm curious about your ideas.

Never mind 😊. Thanks for your recommendation.

Seiko SPB299, SPB207 and SPB187. Slightly over 1000 but right now for holidays you can pick them up for under 1000 with some discounts.

Or if you like a bit dressy diver, the SPB143 and other colors are there.

·

Good selection. I also had the SPB143 in mind.

Maybe a Zodiac Super Sea Wolf, a shining queen.

I totally understans you. I also really enjoyed on my wrist, but I can't decide for a color yet and wanted to check if there is another alternative in this price range. 😊 But it's definatly one of the hottest candidates with it's hypnotic dial.🤤

As someone who owns a 63mas, I can say you won't be disappointed. Great proportions and is an absolute strap monster.

If you have your mind set on one of the options from your photos, I would go for the Mido or Tissot. The Mido wears much nicer on the wrist compared to the chunky Tissot but both are equally great in terms of everything else. Pretty much the same watches underneath except for the design. The only con is while being a dive watch, the lume on all three watches from your list is just mediocre (the one thing Swatch group fails to improve).

There are so many option in that category, but let’s trying to narrow down as much as possible.

I said it yesterday on another post and  I am going to say it again, Christopher Ward C60 is one the best under 1k. Either the classic 600 or the new 300, these are great watches.

But, I understand you are going more conservative in terms of the brand. If you have a larger than average wrist, or you like slightly bigger watches, the unfairly underrated Mido is a killer watch, I had it for a few months but decided to give it a go because of the size and to give space for another watch a wanted more. Another watch that is fantastic, is the Seiko SPB143 and its variations. I only recommend it if the price is right, which is somewhere between 700-800 bucks. I bought my first SPB143 new a year ago, love the watch, I had a few problems with its accuracy, which got stable after a few weeks wearing it. But i sold it because, despite the fact that I love the watch, the price was to high for it. Yesterday I found one under 700 and bought it immediately, because at that price, this is another killer watch.

I also checked yesterday the CW C60. It's indeed a great watch. Definatly something to consider.

Longines HydroConquest is often forgotten but a fine watch.
The dial might be too busy for you but there are many variations.

Maybe consider a Super Squale? Also within budget and looks very classy!

Definatly a great watch. No doubt.

Even I enjoy that look of pilot watches but I was looking for something with minimalistic design with less printings.

But it's comes anyway in my bucket list for my future Pilot watches, right beside the Sinn 903.045 and Citizen night hawk.

Casio Duro, very much under your $1,000.

Also, this Vostok Amphibia with optional bezel. Pretty clean, again well under limit

And bonus, it has wickedly spectacular lume:

Another completely different option is the Seiko Land Tortoise.

I would recommend the Marus from Sternglas. Well under 1000 but nice finish and simple design. Saw it in person and I would also buy it, but the watch is to big for my wrist
