Popped into my local Goldsmiths branch in Bristol yesterday....and immediately noticed this seagull 1963 on the wrist of a staff member. Only a genuine watch nut would be wearing one of these. We got chatting about all sorts of watches and then found a mutual appreciation for a certain make of car too.
Let's hear your positive stories about Authorised Dealers who love watches and don't just look at the sales figures.

When I bought my first quality automatic watch the guy at the AD resizing my bracelet took note of my SNK809 sitting on the counter. He said, "nice watch", and I replied, "it's just a Seiko 5", which earned me a "It's not just a Seiko 5, it's a really cool watch".
It gave me a chuckle to be corrected by the sales staff as he was sizing my much nicer, and better built Hamilton "Interstellar".

Now that guy.... I'd buy a watch from 👌🏻
I havent come across an AD I "connect" with yet to be honest. But I do own this watch as well and agree, this would score some watch nerd points.
I think alot of folks buy their watches online these days too which means the AD relationships arent what they used to be anyways. Im definitely one of these, but I would actually love to find a dealer that I trust and calls me up when they see something they know I might like.
When i bought my Nomos Club, the salesrep was so excited i wanted the pink dial.
We tried on/talked about different Nomos watches and he showed me the Rado diastar he was wearing.
great expectations
Well not my AD but I was thinking about getting one of Vario's chronographs. So I was talking with the owner Ivan. Nice thing about small companies is you get to talk to the Owner. Well I couldn't believe it, he talked me out of buying it. Saying he had something else coming out soon he thought I would like even more.
Really refreshing to have someone truly care more about their customers than the Money. He could have easily sold me both!
