Something different as a daily wearer, my C63 Sealander.

I will be spending the majority of my day in the office so I thought I'd wear something more dressy and sporty instead of my typical tool watches I prefer.

In my opinion CW offer such great watches at the price point, especially when they offer such good discounts occasionally. It's my third CW and I'm just as impressed with this C63 as my Sandhurst and Pro 600.

Any thoughts on the brand from you're own experiences? Any input is welcome, whether negative or positive all comments are welcome.

I have had 3 CW over the years and generally think they are fantastic, especially in a sale as you mentioned. My only negative is that I sold my CW diver after a few years as it started to get a bit raggedy after a few years of generally light use. Also the accuracy (OK automatics not renowned for their accuracy) dropped off substantially. Might have just been me and probably a service needed but that is my experience. My only other negative is the CW branding on the dial, IMO its either in a strange place, doesn't look that good and not up to the price of the watch (on newer ones).

I’ve never owned one but I kinda have my eye on the C63 Sealander GMT in the white dial. Curious how you find the time keeping and build quality as I’ve been considering this one for a while.

I have a thing for GMT watches I’m realising, but hate the ones with the two tone bezels!

I don’t have any issues with the branding on the dial. I’d take this above a Pepsi bezel any day. Maybe I’m in the minority here but I much prefer the bezel to have a uniform look.

·

I went with the 3 hander as I don’t have any need for a GMT. I’ve found with all 3 of my CW’s including this one the time keeping to be only a couple of seconds either way, at most +5 seconds, not bad for a SW200 supposedly not regulated. I purchased this and the others based on the case design and shape  they appear to wear relatively slim on your wrist and I personally don’t mind the new logo, or the older logo for that matter, something a lot of people hated.

I have had no issues with the C63 and it’s one of my favourites in my collection and I would have no hesitation recommending CW to anyone.

Again it’s all down to personal taste 👍

I don’t own a CW. In fact I don’t think I have seen one in the flesh. But from pictures and videos they always had my attention. Their designs has always attracted me and from what I understand with high quality.

I've gone back and forth on whether to get a Christopher Ward a bunch of times. I think they offer some of the best value in Swiss watches. Their finishing and their bracelets are second to none at their price point, and while their movements are nothing special (pretty sure they exclusively use Sellitas) they offer chronometer certified movements in quite a few of their pieces.

I'm not as put off by the branding as a lot of people are, but I do think if they just made the dual flag logo their main branding and removed the CW text from their dials they'd probably sell a lot more watches.

That's a handsome watch though. Definite Aqua Terra vibes.

I ordered this exact watch, it arrives on May 10. Can't wait to get my hands on it. Thanks for the sharing your experience.

·

I have the Sealander GMT in black and I swear the finishing rivals my Tudor BB58. Best value at $1,000 price point imo.

I think you will be impressed when it arrives, great size at 39mm, the light catcher case shape hugs your wrist and looks thinner and CW's attention to details is very good, I haven't received one that had any flaws or QC issues.

I consider this my affordable Aqua Terra, but it has it's own identity and design elements, so even if and when I can afford the Omega I'll more then likely hang onto this CW as well because it's such a great watch.

You will have to post a wrist shot when it arrives and give us your first impressions, I'd like to know what you think 👍

I think you need to hold a CW and wear it before you can make any judgments, I've had nothing but positive experiences with the 3 CW's I own. Sure some of the line up isn't to my taste but I think they have a wide enough variety to cater to most watch collectors tastes.

I was thinking of getting the black dial 3 hander C63, the dial is like a gloss ink black like my Sinn 556i, beautiful 😍

Will do Tony, only 31 days away, lol

I have four CWs, including the white three hander C63, an amazing brand.

I have a LE C63 GMT on order now, and can't wait for it to arrive.

·

I agree with you, amazing brand with what you get for your money. My COSC certified Sandhurst is a great little field watch, the build quality is outstanding and excellent for what I paid.

You’ll have to post a picture of your new watch when it arrives 🙏🏻

A month ago, I got the C63 in green for a 2 week trip to Hawaii. One of the few times I would actually legit use a GMT. I also got the black hybrid rubber strap for “adventuring” in Hawaii. It’s a strap monster, and I might order the bracelet for it too.

My leather strap tore the first day I had it, and CW’s customer service department was A+.  They sent me a brand new one. I actually enjoy this watch more than some that cost five times as much.

I‘m a big fan of CW, and highly recommend them.

That green dial looks great, it was actually my second choice and I could still be tempted to pick one up if and when they go on sale 👍

I now have three CWs.  They are hard to beat for the money.   I started out with the white C63 GMT.  The C63 black 3 hand auto followed shortly after.  Then the C60 diver.  The bracelets are really nice.  The micro adjust is one of the easiest I come across to use.

On a side note there is someone working on fitted rubber straps for the CWs.  I believe its called Triton Straps. They look to be available towards the end of this year which could prove to be pretty enticing.

The black dial C63 three hander looks like the dial has an almost ink like texture, deep and glossy finish, which I love. Much like my Sinn 556iRS.

I’ll have to save my pennies and wait for when they offer a discount then jump on either the black or green one. Would be nice to afford both 🤣

The green is darker in person than what it seems in pics and videos. Indoors, it almost looks more black sometimes. I like it, but was surprised when it arrived. I thought it was going to be more vibrant than it is. You might think of that as a positive or maybe as a negative, but it’s darker than what you think. FYI. Good luck. 👍

The bracelets are one of the best on the market, well the best ones I’ve come across in the world of micro brand watches 💯

You would have to go up to a Tudor or Omega to get the same quality

Thanks for sharing that, in the pictures it does look more of a vibrant green, which is a bit misleading. I may have to go with my second choice, the black dial variant 👍

They are very close but I would give the inky edge to the 556.  But its close.

·

I’m so jealous now, I have a Sinn 556iRS as well but that CW looks the part and I could definitely see one of those in my collection 🙏🏻

CW punches way above their weight in the price/value ratio.  Very excited about the next C65 drop coming in the next couple of weeks.  With all of the buzz out there it is shaping up to be a good release.

Here is my current stable of CWs: In order - C65 GMT, C60 Ombré COSC LE, C65 Dartmouth and C65 Super Compressor.

FYI to all -  The new issue of the Loupe is due to drop at the end of the month.  With the release of the Loupe the latest $125 OFF coupon code will go active.  They are valid for a really long period too.  Up until about a month before the next Loupe is released.  The big sales happen a couple of times a year.  They have one in January. Sometimes they have a second one around the 4th of July.  In these sales they blow out prototypes, discontinued models and nearly new returns.  Everything is usually 30-50% (the prototypes are usually full price in my experience).  They usually do a site wide 15% off for Black Friday.  The $125 off coupon codes don't work with the sales or any other code.

It is so nice to see such a big fan base of CW. In my opinion, they are THE BEST "elegant-tool" watches on the market.

Looking forward to getting my C63 GMT White for my birthday....
